Do 870 parts and accessories fit the Hawk?

"not sure" My first encounter with it was this afternoon when i bought it. It was too cheap to pass up. Got home and did some intarweb sleuthing and reports gave it a nod at the reverse engineering of the 870

whether or not "870 parts fit" - id imagine its like the chinese reverse engineered version of the b52 bomber : Close, but strangely different

so : unlikely 870 parts fit with out "custom work" ( read: filing )

The Chinese were at USI today! What was most impressive was not that there were Chinese, but single good looking females in there 20's - 30's shooting alone and on the 100yd rifle range. One with a 270 and the other with a 30-30. I had the decency to say hi and pass a few blocks and sand bags there way. We got hailed on but the view was very nice. -g

Random question...will a remington 870 swivel cap fit on the 982? Trying to figure out my sling options with this pretty little gun

I bought a 982 a couple of month's back. I went to the range and had a blast. I have an 870 also, they look identical. You can interchange accessories but not internal parts. I'm going shooting tomorrow.

Yes on the mag cap and "all 870 parts" will fit.

The 982, without heat shield, have been coming up in the sale rotation from Big5 every three weeks or so. A couple of co-workers I know have bought them and like them. The local store always has them.

ETA... 870 barrels do not interchange without work from what I've seen and experienced.

870 Barrels are a drop in fit with a spacer to take up the space between the barrel ring and the mag cap.

Shot my 982 side by side with several Rem 870 police models, and it's just as good.

All parts, internals and after market accessories, are compatible with the exception of the barrel, and there's even a quick fit for that.

Max100 - I know you sell mag extensions for these, with your extension do you recommend one of those brackets that go between the barrel and the extension to help strengthen the set up? And have you seen any of those brackets that have a built on Picatinny rail? Seems like that might be a nice accessory - 2 birds with one stone.

My extension doesn't need a clamp because it's only 3.5" long. If you want to add a mount for a flashlight put it in front of the forend where there is plenty of mag tube space. You can attach a sling swivel mounts to one of the rails. LaserLyte offers a very good quality Tri Rail mount.
