I'm one of those people who was looking at the 940, but now I'm going to wait. The a300 patrol checks all the boxes, and the gas system has the potential to be more reliable than the Mossberg. I also suspect the A300 wood furniture will fit as well. Can't wait to handle one of these in person.Glad I picked up my 1301 T when I did last year. I only paid $1,299 for it but then dropped a bundle on Aridus toys and other stuff for it. Great guns and there is a nice community of people here like Ocean Bob who taught us how to trick them out. A300 looks sweet and a smart move by Beretta, this will definitely take a bite out of Mossberg's sales of the 930/940, which a lot of people buy because they're significantly cheaper than the 1301 T. The tactical shotgun market has been heating up!Comment

When I was looking last year, I heavily considered the 930/940 as I think Mossberg guns are great. But I had my heart set on a semi-auto and watching numerous torture tests by gun tubers, I kept seeing FTE and FTF from the Mossbergs. No problem on a range toy but on an HD shotgun, not good. I spent the extra for the 1301 Tactical, which so far with 500 rounds down range has not hiccuped once, even with some crappy ammo.I'm one of those people who was looking at the 940, but now I'm going to wait. If I was in the same position today, I would buy the A300 instead of my 1301 T. Seems like it ticks all of the right boxes and once they ship and are in supply, the price will fall, I bet, down to about high $700s or low $800s on the A300 Patrol, judging by the other A300 prices already out there.Last edited by Capybara; 01-17-2023, 9:06 PM.NRA Certified Metallic Cartridge Reloading Instructor, Shotgun Instructor and Range Safety Officer

I hope you're right, but in my neck of the woods, Berettas (and most everything) are priced at msrp. I do know a home based ffl that's reasonable (but he has limited appointment based hours), so we'll have to see how much can be saved. If it's only $50, I'll take the convenience of a brick & mortar store at msrp.God Bless America - My iTrader rating - https://www.calguns.net/forum/market...2-transactionsComment

I've bought a few new hard to get guns off of GB but yes, by the time you add in shipping and FFL fees, it can be cheaper to find it locally in stock. IF you can find it locally in stock.NRA Certified Metallic Cartridge Reloading Instructor, Shotgun Instructor and Range Safety Officer

G'damn! That's a nifty-lookin' lead-chucker. I like what I see in the video; perhaps it's the waning sunlight but the forend plastic looks a little like that oxblood-color bakelite you might see on some foreign carbines of yore.
Really like the gun I see in that vid. Love the sights system and the M-Lok stuff on the forend. You can keep your tiger stripe camo b.s. off of my tactical/combat/HD weapons.

Apples is sad.
But that's okay. Like BOBGBA notes, once the initial feeding frenzy is over...
Too, I have a Husqvarna chainsaw to buy next month, then the followin month another GMRS radio (but this one a mobile-mounted unit).
Too many neat tools, too little cizzash.

Your timing is perfect. I don't think they are shipping these yet. There will be a huge feeding frenzy and Beretta will sell a ton of them. Then, in 3-6 months, the market will be satisfied and there will be a surplus of them and then you'll begin to see some deals.
Springfield Hellion rifle was the exact same script. When it came out, people were getting nearly $2,800-$3,000 on Gunbroker for them and there weren't hardly any in the pipeline. Here we are six months or so later and most who wanted one right out of the gate have one and now you can get one for quite a bit less than MSRP.Last edited by Capybara; 01-18-2023, 3:04 PM.NRA Certified Metallic Cartridge Reloading Instructor, Shotgun Instructor and Range Safety Officer

I reached out to my LE LGS (Proforce in Brea).
They're not sure if they will be carrying the Tiger Stripe (commercial version vs LE version, I guess).
They said email them after the release date to confirm.
Bummer, they always have good pricing and I was hoping to place an order for one now.
Will 02/28 never come?? Haha!!
You will never, in your life, have a chance like this again.
If I were you, I would not pass this up. I would not let this go by...this is rare.
Come on...what harm??

Son, let me tell you about the great recession of 2023. Times were hard so we had to cut back. No more 1301s. Hello A300s and Ramen.Comment

You've just invented the Calguns 2023 reverse flex. This year, it will be considered very chic to talk about NOT spending money.
Perhaps that WEF/Uncle Klaus directive will be happening soon (that's probably whats being discussed in Davos this week!) and in 2024, we'll be reverse flexing about how we didn't buy any guns and we ate bugs and we loved it? ;-)NRA Certified Metallic Cartridge Reloading Instructor, Shotgun Instructor and Range Safety Officer

Ain't that a picture!
And it may be the case. We don't really *know*.
Meanwhile, I console myself with one of three Remington shotguns, a late-'70s 1100 which wears a Police 1100 Parkerized 18.5" bead sight with an integrated Improved Cylinder choke barrel, a Wilson Combat one-shot mag extension, a Remington Competition carrier and a Brownells' combat bolt handle.
I call it "Texas Tactical"... and I've posted the picture a thousand times on calguns. I won't bore you with it for the 1000-and-oneth time.
Capybara, you make a good point. My unplanned timing in these matters of interesting tools will usually play out that way.

Post 2,
It's my impression (that's just short of my "understanding") is Beretta just doesn't yet have a pistol-gripped stock for it. The A300 has a recoil spring set-up which extends into the stock and a new stock will need to be designed to fit (perhaps similar to/comparable to the Remington 1100/11-87).
I can't even fore see an adapter being made for the existing Magpul stocks (not quite a pistol gripped stock) being doable.
Personally, I like the straight stocks on my shotguns (probably from my prior wrist injuries), but I realize many folks will want a pistol gripped stock. Those folks should either go with the 1301 or M4, if they need a shotgun right now, or wait and see what Beretta does with its A300 Ultima Patrol (UP for short) &/or the aftermarket (maybe MesaTactical, we'll see).
I'm guessing the aftermarket would then be at least another year out for accessories to start appearing. Up until now, the A300 series was marketed toward the sporting-crowd and HD/Tac/combat stuff is non-existent right now.
I'm watching closely as my only semiauto SG is an obsolete 11-87P. I'm patiently-watching, instead of immediately buying the A300UP, 940 Pro Tac, 1301, and M4 (I'm not going to the new Remarms products at the moment).
All it takes is more money, and if I had to have a fighting SG right now, the 1301, seems to be, for me, the way to go; but I don't need one right at this moment. For now, I'm quite happy with my pump guns (again, not everyone even considers a pump gun anymore, but I'm an old guy and not a 3- gun competitor, either).
Summary, I haven't heard anything about a pistol gripped stock not working with the A300UP. I think it's more of there isn't one yet available.(former) Glock and 1911 Armorer; LEO (now retired)Comment
