Skeet shooters have a well deserved reputation as being absolutely the worse people in any form of shooting.
They are the horse people of shooting.
      Down to brass tacks.
Your not a young man with the quick reflexes of yesterday. Add in 32 inch barrels and your going to be behind everything.
You need a dedicated skeet gun and then you need to shoot it enough to get your body from fatiguing out before you quit shooting.
Whatsup40 hit 23-24 birds which is more typical in skeet because everyone knows where the bird is going.
Do you have a gun with 26-28 inch barrels and improved cylinder? If yes try that gun.

First, you asked if he was using buckshot and that anyone could break 20 with a slingshot. Next, you ridiculed him for paying for a lesson and made a PT Barnum reference. Your last post was helpful.

I can't speak for trap/skeet shooters but I use IM/IM for Sporting Clays practice.

How about we take this thread in a more positive direction.?

I need some Green Dot Powder, otherwise I'm not going to be able to shoot my 12 ga guns much longer. I have enough for another 200 rounds.

Instead of Thrashing this thread why not be constructive and sell me some powder. I could use another 1000 Primers too! I know some of you guys have hundreds of pounds of Powder and Cases of Primers stashed and could easily help me out?.

As far as me paying $120 for a lesson, where else can I shoot 130 rounds in an hour, have the field all to myself, and have someone coaching me,,, for less?

And as far as Pink Tutu's and Skeeters being ***holes, I shoot with the same guys who shoot Trap and SC at my Club. I also shoot long and short range silhouette with some of them. I am treated with respect because I am known to be good at many different things. I drive my hand built Jeep to most events and have to wipe it down after they drool all over it. I also won Short Range Silhouette 3 years in a row. And I manufacture and sell the Worlds Finest Portable Reloading Press.

Point being,,, I am not devoid of talent. I can learn this,,, just like I learned how to do everything else I know how to do.

Try to ban me and my big trapshooting buckle muhahaha (hi Brad)

Tanks, one of my best registered 5 stand scores was with a light full, but was typically running Mod most of the time, only switching to full or ic when absolutely ‘needed’

                Randy, nice CJ!

While not green dot, I have some promo stashed away, but I’m saving that for whenever I bring out the grabber again.

I would like to get one of your presses one day too.

As for skeet, one of my favorite rounds was when I put a 20” rifle sighted barrel on a wingmaster and ran a 24 brought a big grin to my face. Like Bob says - it’s good fun

Well your comment is pretty jacked up, Because I hear that the trap shooters are the bottom feeders and are the people you don't want to shoot with!!! Personally I will shoot any sport but love sporting clay's the most, Any gun with skeet chokes will be good for skeet!! Even my 28 gauge

As easy as it may seem, trying to keep your s**t together for 25 shots is not that easy!! one brain fart and you can lose 2 birds easy or 4,5,6 birds, It's not rocket science, BUT it is a humbling task!!

While I don't have enough primers to sell them, I've gotten notifications for 2 different types of primers in stock at midway in the last 2 days. Both were still available more than an hour after getting the email as well.

It's not that trap and skeet are easy, it's that they're boring as ****. And trap shooters tend to be cranky old bastards.

I'm a cranky old bastard, so I know one when I see one

OK lets put all this to rest.

First: The instructor is $75/hour. For 1 hour. I got my monies worth despite what other might think.

The other $45 was for the field and targets. I was fine with this as well.

I know of no place including my club that I could shoot 130 rounds in 1 hour by myself with someone else pulling for me alone. It wouldn't happen so it wasn't an option.

I bought the Citori CXS with 32" bbls because I wanted it, not realizing that it would be that much slower than my Citori .410 with 32" bbls. I also wanted to be able to shoot Sporting Clays with the gun by just changing the choke tubes. I even built a Cart for it. I see plenty of guys shooting 725's with 32" bbls so it can't be that bad? I can learn how to shoot it.

Lynn: Thanks for the offer on the powder, but looking for Green Dot which is what I have used since I started loading 12 ga. Shot Shells 15+ years ago. I really don't like changing a machine set up as it takes way too long to get it to run right again.

I called Alliant yesterday trying to find out WTF was going on with the supply. Got the same excuses you'd expect but then I got some real info,,,

They only make powder to order for @18 major distributors. In other words they get and order, and they make powder for that order, and then move on. They only work on one order at a time? Even if he next order needs some of the same powder, they ignore it. One at a time period...

They don't Warehouse Anything! (and I was kind of taken aback by this?) He said that's how you go broke? This was one of the stupidest things I have ever heard!!! He said they didn't want $42 Million Dollars worth of powder laying around? Don't you know where the On/Off Switch is on your machines?

The the final thing was they are 2 years behind on orders. You've got to be ****tin' me? And You haven't figured out that you need to increase production?

I didn't ask about expanding their production lines as I knew that he'd say "what would we do when the demand goes away and we're stuck with all these Machines and powder?" Like demand is going away any time soon (Duh You are 2 years behind on orders?) and then they could just go back from 24/7 to 12/5 and give some people the day off!

[B]As it sits they will NEVER catch up to demand and never get back to normal operation! [B]

I have been in business for 40+ years. I was taught early on that if there was a problem anywhere in a company,,, It was a Management Problem!!!.

If you would have heard what I heard you'd agree this place has a Serious Management Problem.

I am not done complaining about this problem because this was some of the stupidest **** I've ever heard. I understand that Hodgdon's owns Alliant? Maybe a call to them would shake things up?

Luckily I have plenty of H110/W296 for my .410's! All made by Alliant for Hodgdon's and Winchester ! different labels on the same bottles.
