A new Beretta 1301 enhanced model announced

Only thing I didn’t see anywhere that would remotely interest me is if this enhanced model is 30% or whatever it was faster than their previous model? If a firearm is not capable of outperforming it’s previous model...it’s s no-go...hard pass regardless of how cute it looks.

It is hard to tell from the pic, but when I look at the shell lifter - I see a lot more of the small square notch at the back of the lifter, than I do my Gen 2. It is different for sure.

You have sharp eyes! That looks like the lifter mod from the Comp Pro. It holds the lifter up when loading the mag tube so you don’t have to fight the lifter spring. I have it on mine for 3gun and it works well.

So is the port longer, is the lifter different, or is it just something funny about the pic

The rear of the port is the plastic trigger housing, maybe it would not take much to change it if they wanted to. But I just can't tell...

That definitely is not the pro lifter, it is a trick of the light in a crappy picture though.

Same as the gen 2 aside from the extended tube and clamp. Same controls and loading port. So kinda a wash some people may not like the plastic clamp and tube cover.

Is the barrel clamp really plastic or is this still unknown?

SkyHawk...I’m sorry I hurt your feelings...pals... To those that can handle a comment without their feminine side getting the best of them, isn’t the FOSTECH ORIGIN 12 the fastest shotgun or one of the fastest in the world? Maybe I will put my ORIGIN 12 up against my Beretta 1301 just to double check. The only reason I won’t put my ORIGIN 12 above my Beretta 1301, my Benelli M4 or even my Versamax is because it only cycles 2 3/4” shells. Sure the Beretta is fast, I even mentioned that, but why go out and spend that much on a couple of cosmetic changes? If you had a Versamax Comp Tactical you’d probably understand. Have you compared the recoil of a 1301 to a Versamax...I have and do often. I get 10 rounds in my versamax vs 7 in the 1301, the versamax comes with various chokes, adjustable stock, and a 22” barrel vs 18” on the beretta. After shooting and patterning them side by side you’d see why the versamax (regardless of the brand) in my humble opinion is a better all around gun. Oh...the Versamax barrel is too long, yeah but knowing how to handle a shotgun one can still clear a room just as well as with a 1301. It’s great to have a difference in opinions and experiences..,it’s how we learn about things. If you can’t handle a comment...you should check your dip stick cause you are probably low on oil. I’d even let you shoot my ORIGIN 12, but you might kill me with it.

You mentioned you also have a Benelli M4, would you say its a far superior shotgun than the Versamax since the Benelli M4 is the original design and the Versamax is a copy of it well at least in its gas operation? Also how much cheaper is the Versamax vs the M4 when you got it, just curious why somebody would choose a clone over what the US Marines use, also Im not sure if Remarms would also continually suppprt the Versamax? Lastly is your Fostech Origin able to cycle light loads as well as your 1301? Im sorry I ask too many questions Im just a newbie.

Makes me appreciate and love my Remington Versamax Competition Tactical even more.

Well, they are not being produced anymore. Therefore, whatever good feedback you give about the Versamax....is just a one man's anecdotal say.

Isn't there is a restriction on imported shotgun tube size? But the LE version and then this, both come with extended tube, what gives? In the other hand, these extended tube seem to make it easier to comply with 922r, as you don't have to install tube extension and change the other three parts for compliance.

Does that make sense?
