That's awesome. Seriously. You can't make this stuff up. Oh wait... you can.

I can't be surprised by anything gun shop employees say anymore.

He said to me that I shouldn't do that because the ATF is raiding people who buy ammo online. This sounded like a load to me, but I didn't argue--after all, I'm pretty new at this! So is he right? I live in Orange County--does OC have restrictions against online ammo purchases?

          Thanks!
I'm begging to know who told you this. Pleeeeeeeeeeeeese let it be Grants. Pretty please?

Thanks for all the responses guys! It's nice to hear from someone else that they were full of crap. The gun shop was Fowler Gun Room in Orange. They were much less pleasant to deal with than the place I bought the gun, which was Ade's gun shop. Fowler's won't be getting my business again!

Really? They're always so cool to me in there. I just bought a pound of powder there last weekend!

Now where am I supposed to buy reloading supplies...

Yeah, what little ammo I did buy was more expensive than what I saw online.

You can go to WallyWorld for your ammo. They normally have a good amount of shotgun ammo. You can buy some birdshot for practice and buck/slugs for HD there if you want.

That's what I did. I saw the same box of ammo at WallyWorld for $5.. went to the range and they tried to sell me the same exact box because I had to shoot their ammo for $10.

                      Unaldulterated FUD.

Buy ammo wherever you find it, for the lowest possible price for quality product.
The way some gunshop clerks spout off, you'd think that they invented gunpowder and the repeating rifle, and sat on the Supreme Court as well.

You can buy all your ammo online. There is not restrictions in OC as far as I know. I live in OC too and buy most of my ammo online. I recommend looking at ammoman and sportsmanguide for good prices on ammo.

I'm really surprised this came from someone at Fowlers. They are normally solid in there...
