Sorry to steal your thread, but does Big 5 carry the HD version of the Remington 870? extended magazine tube, 18" barrel, etc. If so, does anyone know how much they're going for right now? Or if someone knows where I can find this version for cheap? Thanks

If you wait, it will go on sale for $350 or less. It goes on sale every other month or so. Just check their sale ads on the website: http://www.big5sportinggoods.comComment

I'll definitely be waiting for the weekly specials.
^^ I've also been really interested in a Benelli Supernova. What are the main differences with the Benelli and the 870? I know that they're lighter, but not sure if they are more reliable? Are they sold at Big 5? If so, is there security versions of them? and is there a significant price difference? Thank you!Comment

Benellis are too pricey to be sold at Big 5. However, I've seen them for about $425 - $550 at other gun stores that carry Benellis. The problem with them is that you can't mod them like you can a Remington or Mossberg. Limited options and 922r compliance issues. Also the stock is a part of the receiver assembly therefore aftermarket stocks are not available and the pistol gripped versions are somewhat hard to find(even more so nowadays).I'll definitely be waiting for the weekly specials.
Bought a Mossberg 500 7+1 last year with one of the weekly specials. $300 OTD.

BTW, the Benellis are heavier than Remingtons and Mossbergs.Last edited by vintagedude88; 06-02-2009, 8:47 AM.Comment

Tyrone IndustriesWhoa, never seen a rear sight like that. I'm pointing to the thing that appears to be a ghost ring sight mounted forward of the safety on the top of the receiver. It's at 3 o'clock in the photo (right hand side, right above the trigger group).
Anyone have any idea who makes that one?sigpic

Thank you! My local Sports Authority has them in stock and was thinking of getting it, but now I will just wait 'till the 870 is on sale!Benellis are too pricey to be sold at Big 5.
