looing for a mossberg expert in sacramento

my JM930 is giving me fits

the gun will not fire....

it could be as simple as i did not reasemble correctly after cleaning

I assume it was working fine before cleaning? I’d recommend pulling up a youtube reassembly video and seeing if that helps.

Out of the box mine wouldn’t fire bird shot. It was pretty much a bolt action shotgun and I was embarrassed at the range in front of my friends to say the least. I know there’s an easy fix for this but still not what I expected out of the box. Have not shot it since...

I apologize, it would not cycle properly. I have been told to use hotter ammunition and see if that remedies it but have not had the time to test that theory.

They were the Winchester Super X (2 3/4 in) (1 1/4 oz) #8 shot producing 1220 fps in velocity.

Mine cycles everything, given mine is a hunter version. Have you tried to clean it?
But anyways, there might be multiple reasons for gun not cycling. More details are needed.

Not sure how true this is, but according to this website there are lots of ways that the gas piston spacer tube can foul, causing cycling issues.

Yes that is the fix I was mentioning earlier. I guess they came out with a JM940 that is supposed to address this issue and some other minor changes but at a higher cost.

Out of the box mine cycled everything, but I noticed the action was a little slugish. I took it apart and used a 12g mop chucked to the end of a dril and some mothers mag wheel polish. I lightly polished the cylinder walls and it now cycles very smoothly.
