That ammo works fine in my pump shotgun. I know some people with semi's have issues with it, but it's certainly worth trying out.

I've found, unless you are a serious expert competitor, any ammo marked as "target ammo" of the right shot size (7.5 or smaller, IIRC) works just fine for skeet.

I've written up my ongoing adventures as I learn to hunt.

Yes, you CAN fit a case of shotgun shells into a .50cal ammo can.

I think i found an optimal solution for ammo can labeling.

I made this target for the NRA's Marksman pistol test. I think it's a lot better than the paper plate they suggest.

My Rem 1100 works fine with them. They cycle the action fine. have broke a bunch of clays with them...

I'm new to clay shooting as well and so far have used estate, federal, Remington, and Winchester. All worked fine for me. I just tend to get what's on sale

You didn't say what kind of shotgun you are using and I am new to this as well, but I have tried 8 shot with 3 1/4 dram with no issues. I even tried some 1oz loads through an A5 Browning belgium made and it cycled in the magnum configuration. I was really surprised. What make and model are you running?

If you enjoy the Skeet field you should try a round of Sporting Clays. After a 45 year hiatus I recently started shooting Skeet & Trap with a bunch of graybeards from my car club and have been having a blast (no pun intended), but yesterday we spent the morning on the SC fields and it was about the most fun I've ever had on a gun range.

The reason I like sporting clays is every station on every course in America is different.

Trap and skeet are games of repeatable target presentations. If you go to any skeet range in America, the target presentations have to be exactly the same.

Go to any trap range in America, and the presentations are exactly the same, they have to be.

In the rest of the world they shoot international skeet, which is slightly different. Low gun, smaller birds, faster birds.

International trap, same thing. Faster, farther birds.

I have shot pistols and rifles forever and have hunted a bit with a shotgun. I shot clays a couple weeks ago for maybe the second or third time in my life and loved it. Like the OP I think I am hooked. Looking into an upgrade from my Mossy 500.
