while I do prefer stock pack type shell holders the ATI HALO a buddy runs is slick and quick. Pluck shells out with ease and snag free would recommend.
    No, im NOT.

Its a legitimate question from OP. Sidesaddles can induce malfunctions, etc.

Posturing as some low drag operator and ridiculing others as keyboard commandos is inflammatory and will be treated as such.

Proclamations that no one needs more than 6 rounds because someone told him 6 should be plenty is ridiculous. Attacing the Librarian as a keybowrd commando invites a response. One size fits all approaches are simplistic. Draping it in the cover of prior service doesnt make it gospel.

    Just sayin my backside. ;D

do zombies attack in numbers limited to 5+1?

all i need is a pencil, so for me, guns are just for show.

on topic, i prefer saddle mounted for quicker reloading, but i'll take anything over a click.

Agreed on both points. I have a Mesa aluminum sidesaddle on a Rem. 870 and if you tighten down the cross bolts too tight it can impede hammer movement causing misfires.

I've done a good bit of shotgun training geared toward fighting, and prefer a sidesaddle that is properly torqued with Loctite to prevent any binding (never experienced that in almost thirty years). When up at the ranch, having more that six rounds is prudent, as the distant meth labs and such have invited the occasional home invasion in our rural county. Being that any LE response is often over one hour+, I simply won't limit myself to only six.
Get your shotgun configured how you like it, and go take a class on how to use it.

I use an Esstac card like some of the others here. Cheap and reliable.

I can hardly imagine a scenario where 6-8 shells of 00 buckshot couldn't get the job done, but I suppose having a couple of slugs and extra shells on board is a good thing.

It is robust and very high quality. It is obviously a bit heavier than the velcro systems. And there might be something to the quick "re-loadability" of the velcro cards. Although you could always buy a second...and third "cassette" if you wanted to...but that's obviously a lot more money than velcro.

I'm also not sure what you do with velcro in the rain if it gets wet. At that point you likely have to strip it all off, let it dry, and then reapply fresh velcro. Nothing is perfect I guess.

So far as I am aware, wet velcro works just as well as dry velcro.

The glue holding the 'loop' velcro to the receiver might soften a bit in high heat or if the gun gets really hot.

You sir, are ready. Or at least you will be once you buckle all three straps on your wrist bandolier.

I can just imagine the scene at your house at 3:00 a.m. some morning:

The glue holding on the velcro is my main concern however unless I'm taking a class I don't see the receiver getting that hot.

Did you have a personal lethal encounter in your military background where you were specifically using a shotgun in a home defense situation and you eliminated your opponent with 6 rounds or less?
