As I stated, the Walmarts near me no longer sell ammunition. I'm in the SFV which is in the City of LA. So that won't work. I'll just get the estate at Big5 or the Browning at Turners.

Walmart Winchester Universal 4-pack
Anything wrong with Walmart Winchester Universal 4-pack?? please enlighten me. I've been using it with no issues on Remington Versamax Tactical Competion, Beretta A400 Excel, and Beretta O/U Gold Sporting. Should I refrain from buying those? ThanksComment

On a couple of occasions, I've seen a different guns (pumps and over/unders) that had problems ejecting them. Immediately after having a couple of stuck shells, when we switched to a different brand, there were no more stuck shells for the rest of the day.
It seemed to me that upon firing, something on the shell (either the base or the plastic part of the hull or both) was distorting enough to make it stick in the chamber.
The pump gun was extremely hard to clear and the over/under had ejectors that wouldn't budge the shell.
I don't recall observing the problem in a semi-auto, but that could be due to 3 things that I can think of:
1) not many guys use a semi auto where I shoot
2) the few guys that shoot semi's seem to use remington gun club or federal and don't shoot the winchester universals
3) maybe the semi autos exerts enough (more) force to overcome the problem
It's the only shotgun shell (and we shoot just about every brand) that I've seen have this problem and it was on more than one occasion. So I've decided never to shoot it or recommend it. I'd rather buy the Federal 4-pack that's the same price or even buy shells that cost more (I like remington gun club). I'd rather not encounter a stuck shell while shooting a round of skeet.
If they work for you and you're happy with them, that's great. Maybe we just ran into a bad batch, but that was enough for me to decide there's no need to use them.God Bless America - My iTrader rating - https://www.calguns.net/forum/market...2-transactionsComment

Same experience as BOBGA above. The Winchester Universals are problematic with my Beretta A400. Not enough ooomph to completely cycle.
If Walmart has both, I prefer the Federal 4-pack. Same price, works better.Comment

If I was spending time and money on a clinic why go cheap get good ammo so you don't have issues and you have better consistent shots to help you learnComment

cheap Rem at Walmart = good in my old Rem 870.
cheap Win at Walmart = jamm-o-matic the 870.
Its worth the extra 22 vs 21 dollars a case.DOES PEPPER SPRAY WORK? AFTER REPEATED POINT BLANK SHOTS TO THE FACE...OVER A SIMPLE WORKPLACE DISAGREEMENT??? you decide, and you will laught, too

Huh?
If you are getting jams in a pump-action 870 on ANY ammo, either something is seriously mechanically wrong with your Remington, or something is wrong with your hand/wrist/elbow/shoulder.
Just about any Remington 870, old, new, beat-up used Police surplus gun, or a rusted and neglected house gun, will work on any ammo - unless it's broken.-----------------------------------------------

That may have been true years ago, but I believe that some ammo manufactured today is cheaply made and can expand in the chamber causing the 870 to fail to eject. The shell bases and plastic casings are not the same as they used to be. Cheaper materials are being used today. I have owned the same Wingmaster for 30+ years and have seen the problem.

No need to spend extra on the shells. Even the cheap shells will usually out perform the shooter. I've shot expensive, cheap and everything in-between shells, no difference in scores. Now if you plan to reload, that's where the higher cost shells are worth it.
Now the WIN value packs from Walmart do have other issues in some guns...Failure to feed/eject, I would stay away from these, anything else will do fine."A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed"Comment

My favorite is the Federal Top Gun shells. Experienced trap shooter claim Remington Gun Club shells are better. Both can outshoot me, but I still prefer the Federal shells.
Winchester el-cheapos seem to be the worst.

I can get ANY 870, new or old, LEO beater or standard brand-new off the shelf, to not only work, but work reliably on any ammo. That may have been true years ago, but I believe that some ammo manufactured today is cheaply made and can expand in the chamber causing the 870 to fail to eject. Not saying the it could never happen, nor that it isn't true.
I'm saying' it's still the gun. Fix it.Last edited by The Gleam; 09-01-2017, 10:26 PM.-----------------------------------------------

There have been many, many reports of these shells not ejecting over the last 10 years or so. It's not limited to the 870 either, other models and brands have had the problem, however it seems most prevalent in the 870 express. Polishing the chamber will help, but with these shells there is no 100% fix other than not using them."A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed"Comment
