    Favorite cheap target loads?

In anticipation for the skeet clinic, I need to buy some shells. Was just going to buy a 100 pack of Estate brand. Good enough?

Should be. I just loaded up on Remington from Dick's...they have a good sale on them and Winchester target loads...

I am not a Skeet expert, but most guys seem to shoot no. 8 and not 7 1/2 like the trap or sporting clay folks...something to think about...

I have shot a hell of alot of estate...never had any problems with it...
Wilson Protector .45, Springer 9mm Loaded, Franchi Instinct SL .12ga. and some other cool stuff for the kiddos...

Turners has Browning for $3 cheaper per hundred, I'm just not sure it's worth the fuel(would break even considering fuel) and the hassle with overcrowded Turners Reseda.

Copy that! The Federal 100 pack , Multi-purpose?, is good stuff. 7.5's and 8's. About $20.00.

Cabela's is having a sale that ends tonight (I think). Herters 1 ounce for $53 a flat, plus $5 shipping if over $99. No tax!

I usually buy and shoot a lot of the Winchester Super Target (White box) 1 1/8oz #8 or #7.5 from Walmart for $5.48/box......I think. Last few weeks, they have had the Estate Target shells for the same price. I get better patterns with the Estates, so I buy them when the price is equal to or less than the Winchester's.

The only reservation I have with Estate shells, is that when used in both my wife's and my Benelli semi-autos, they can sometimes fail to feed. Something odd about their crimping or the plastic that will "catch" and get stuck sometimes.

Not a problem when shooting singles/handicap in trap as we can simply pull the bolt back and let it slam home again, which will correct the issue. I don't use it for doubles because of this.

If you're going to be using a semi-auto, maybe spend a little more and get Remington Gun Clubs instead. There's a rebate going on right now so that should make them pretty attractive.

Good to know. Big5 has Estate 100 packs for $23. I guess I'll go with that. Walmarts near me don't sell ammo anymore.

Good to know! I'm always on the fence between the federal 100 pack and the Universal 100 pack since they're both abundant and similar in price. Both seem to work fine for me but I always wondered if one was better than the other.

Walmart has dove loads available in 7 1/2 & 8s in 1 oz shot for $4.74 a box. I tried it shoting trap and sporting with it and had really good results.
