    Question on Side by Side

I had a question about a side by side. I really want to get a side by side and

the one I've been looking at is the CZ Sharp-Tail 12ga/30inch. There aren't

much reviews on it or videos on it. Wondering if anyone had experience with

this gun. And before you all go on saying I should put 2k on a decent one I

really don't got that much money. I would mainly be using it for Las Alto skeet

shooting with friend when I'm free. I wouldn't mind hearing though whats the

big difference between this and 2k. Thank calgun community, my one stop shop

    for firearm information.

Not many use a side-by-side as opposed to an over-under for clays. Except maybe if they already owned a side-by-side and did not want to invest in another gun. What led you to prefer a side-by-side to an over-under, pump, or semi-auto?

I believe that CZ has their shotguns made by a Turkish firm and they can be hit and miss quality wise.

Shotguns, O/U and SxS specifically, are one of those things where you get what you pay for. I would probably look for something on the used market, maybe something Spanish.

People enjoy shooting SXS so no problem with that but 30 inch barreled modestly priced shotguns wont swing very quick for skeet shooting. You don't have to spend a ton for a good skeet gun. Here's a nice auto gun: http://www.basspro.com/Beretta-A300-...hart-container

          The CZ's are good guns.

I really like the style of the double barrel. Shot my friends stoeger coach and liked it. Not doing anything professional so don't need extreme accuracy. As long as it hits the trap I think I'm happy. Have actually tried with an 18 inch barrel Remington police Magnum and did fine so didn't think this would do any worse. But from the type of shotgun I want I think I want SxS.

The CZ shotguns are good to go. I have a 28 gauge O/U it's well built and the barrels are regulated. Great gun for the price, at least back then. Have no idea what they sell for now. Far better gun than a Stoeger. IIRC the CZ is made by Huglu in Turkey. Turkey gets an undeserved bad rap in the USA because of all the crap has come from there in the past, but they have been producing some good stuff too.

Those guns have varying degrees of cast in the stocks, so I would try before you buy just to see how it points.

Cool thanks pardini I was a little curious about the over under but I think looking down a double barrel makes it a little easier for me to shoot. Unfortunately not too many gun stores around me and classes start for me soon so going to busy. Just going to buy it and see if I like it I guess

If you are seeing the barrel on either a sxs or o/u you missed.
The difference in both over a pump or an auto is weight and balance. (handling characteristics)
The difference between the two is that an o/u breaks open much farther to access that bottom tube.
This could make it more awkward to reload in a duck blind but it "hooks" on your arm more comfortably when carrying while the action is open.
There is some perceived advantage while hunting in selecting between barrels of a different choke or of different loads but mostly it boils down to personal preference.
Doubles can generally be said to be lighter, shorter and the weight balances farther back.

Skeet or Trap? Two different guns.

Buy it, perfect for non-competition trap use.

AAKER makes shotguns for CZ. Their quality is good and not great so for recreation/range use it'll be fine. If you where to hunt with it I'd either use it as backup or bring a backup just in case.
