      A friend bought a Dickinson (short barreled, marine type finish, regular stock, not a pistol grip) and after shooting at most a case of shells, it no longer locks into battery. He likes it that way because it's easier for him to pump (like it has a recoil assist).

        ^^That is another thing the pumps that I've handled did-fail to lock closed-like they did when they were new.

        That is not a good thing and the gun is designed to lock closed when cocked like other pumps...
