    Gas guns?

Starting the process of looking for a new duck gun, wow what an almost overwhelming experience. I am currently shooting a Belgium made Auto 5 so that tells you how long it's been since I have looked at shotguns. Anyway, of the current crop of semi autos, which ones are gas operated?

The Berettas are. I think the Mossbergs are as well.

If you're looking for a gun you can shoot all day long and not get beat up, the Remington Versa Max is probably the nicest shooting hunting gun I've ever tried. It's a bit heavy, but it's got a recoil that felt softer than any shotgun I've shot before.

I also really liked the Beretta A400.

Winchester SX3, Weatherby SA-08, & Beretta A300, come to mind.

Honestly, it'd probably be easier to list which ones aren't.

Just about everything from Benelli isn't gas operated except the m4.
Franchi's are mostly if not all inertia driven.
The new browning a5's use their "kinematic"(or whatever they want to call it) operation that as far as I know doesn't use gas.
I think ATI imports an inertia driven shotgun(don't know which model off the top of my head).

Beretta, Mossberg, Winchester, Remington, most Brownings, etc. tend to be gas guns.

Appreciate all the info. Have never been recoil sensitive but arthritis in my shoulder and the high velocity shells these days are making me sore after a good shoot day. So heading down the road of a new gun. The options out there are mind boggling.

A Beretta A300 Camo is the best value out there, and it's a great duck gun with a 3" chamber.

If you're in So Cal you're welcome to shoot mine.

Even though it is a recoil gun the Benelli Ethos is very light to carry and with 12ga kicks like a 20ga.

My current duck gun is a Browning Maxxus. This is my third season using this gun and I love it.

My previous duck gun was a Beretta 391 auto that was flawless as well. I added the Maxxus to my collection as the Beretta had a wood stock and I wanted to move to a synthetic.

I'm not sure why I even have a duck gun, because all of my draws so far this season have been UNSUCCESSFUL.

Remington's popular gas shotgun models in crono order:
                          1100, 1187, Versamax, V3.
In other words the V3 is the latest.

Remington's V3 won't be out in stores for another month, based on what I've read.

I love the enthusiasm that ysr racer has for his gun. Always willing to let someone shoot it. I really hope you draw a reservation this weekend!

I don't have any gas gun experience beyond a few shots with a Beretta A400 20G and I was impressed. It weighs about 1.5 lbs less than my O/U 20G and the recoil is the same or less & this was w/o the Kick-Off system.

Fishnmike... If you have put enough shells through that A5 of yours... it may be you need to replace the recoil spring for the action. Besides for making the gun not beat itself to death, that may help with perceived recoil as well.
