    Mav is just a Mossberg 500 that they save money on by having Mexicans handle the assembly.

    If you want a pistol grip, the Mav is the better choice due to safety location. Many people even retrofit the Mav trigger assembly into their 500 after they go pistol grip.

      Got it. I'll look into a Mav. I remember seeing it on sale recently, hopefully it still is.

        All that being said, unless you are planning on needing to breech doors for a living a PG only shotgun isn't much fun or useful. Despite what you see on TV you still need to AIM a shotgun even in a home defense situation.

          Exactly, Buy a short LOP stock for your shotgun and learn to shot stock it for home defense vs a PG which you'll probably end up knocking out your front teeth the first time you try to aim down the barrel.
