Cheapest 10/22 trigger mod?

My 1999 10/22 aluminum receiver has steel internals. I put a Volquartsen hammer & sear in it & the trigger take up, or "creep" was incredibly sloppy. I'll admit it was much lighter & had a crisp release, just felt like a 2 stage trigger. I decided to send it to Randy at CPC & I've never looked back. I also had my bolt jeweled & more importantly, the headspace reground. 10/22's get their headspace from the bolt specs. Fast turnaround & high quality work, very reasonable price. I have not had a single failure to anything in several thousand rounds. Please do NOT do your own trigger work.Yes I took the pic, no I didn't go swimming!Comment

Common sense says if you don't know .002 from .020, you don't screw with it.
If you don't want to spend the time to know the relationship between parts, buy parts or send your parts out.
Simple.

polish the hammer.
My brother did one, then compared to the VQ hammer ...his was BETTER !!
Worst case scenario you phluck it up and go buy a Kidd hammer.

After cruising rimfire forum's.I keep coming up with
Brimstone
Swampfox
I have done some of my own, used VQ completes, and used Kidd parts on others.
If a person is not into learning this or is without tools.
Drop in parts are best or a knowledgable person.A complete is expensive but works well.
I have had mixed success with just a hammer alone.
I know of Brimstone as good work.
Please someone:Have you used the Swampfox guy?
He wants $45 plus shipping for a basic 2-3 pound clean trigger job on your lower. One of the rimfire sights rated his stuff as good as Brimstone.
I have a new magnum out there now and before I waste money on parts,I want to try this guy.Comment
