Polish that feed ramp to a chrome finish and put a very slight bevel on the bottom of the breach, if you're comfortable doing it, and I think you will be very happy with the results. She becomes a lot more receptive to cheap ammo.

i love my mosquito - as long as you use high velocity and a bore snake occasionally (depending how many rounds during one session) mine eats everything. i polished up the feed ramp to get rid of the bump on the older models. current production have it removed from factory
congrats!
I mainly shoot .22lr, 9mm,45 acp, 357 & 38, 12G, 7.62x39, .308, .223/556, 7.62x54r, 300 win mag, 8x57God Bless USAComment

Cannot disagree on that - but following the RimfireCentral procedures it really improved the use of 40gr HV bulk ammo in my ultra used Mosquito. Everygun is different and in some cases premium ammo would have to be the way but for me it wasn't necessary.Comment

I got one and hated it, but after I filed down the feed ramp a little bit and opened it up just a tad, then a good polishing it work a thousand times better, the only problem I get every now and then is misfires and that usually cuz the pin didn't hit square on the round, and let me tell you I feed mine every thing,I pretty much have a ammo can with a mix of different rounds and every thing works in it!! I will get a failure to eject but that's usually after I fired a couple of hundred round and it's dirty as Hell!!!Comment

Some really good Mosquito tips from rimfireCentral to keep it trouble free.
I think there is a Mosquito in this pic.

Great pic! lol!

I have had a Mosquito for many years. Removed the mag disconnect, polished the feed ramp. The thing still sucks. Running CCIs it is "OK" anything else and it constantly fails to feed at least one round per magazine. If I could do it all over again, I would not even consider purchasing the Mosquito. It is, without a doubt, the biggest POS in my entire collection; and that is saying a lot.NRA Life Member

Thanks to mrrabbit and all of his insight, and especially for posting his link on #16 insofar as the ammunition variations. Very good! I do not own a Mosquito nor do I own any other Sigs.
OT, I have a 1911 with a 20+ year old Ciener .22 conversion kit which handles Rem T-Bolt and Subsonic round without a hitch, but it has a Wolff 19# mainspring rather than the standard 23# found on many .45 1911's. It also has a round nosed firing pin and I have never had a failure to fire, nor have I had any leading issues. When cleaning the pistol I always disassemble the slide/barrel unit completely and clean from the breech end with a brush and Hoppe's #9. Have never seen any evidence of leading as shown in those pics.
The TB rounds are dirty, yes, but the pics of the lead fouling chunk seems to me to be too many rounds run through a hot barrel. Even hard cast lead in .44 Magnum pistol rounds will exhibit this if the pistol is fired with a hot barrel.
I guess if one wants to run 200-300 rounds in short order in any.22 semi-auto pistol that is not a heavy bull barrel, a certain cool-down period would seem advisable and yet...Comment

I've had mine for 2 years now I think. Probably 3000-4000 rounds through it I think mostly golden bullets and a some minimags in the very beginning.
Only cleaned it 3 or 4 times total and it still runs without issues. I let it go that long just to see how far I can push this "jam-o-matic" so far so good.Comment

I have a Mosquito and it runs great, even on the Remington bulk ammo. I have ran it dirty and it still runs well. I would consider removing the mag disconnect soon.
Anyways, here is my Mosquito-
