Please allow me to help....Easier to readI've been a Midway Customer since 1990, and I've always shopped with them or Brownells. However, recently I've been diappointed with Midway. I know the that the .22LR shortage has been hard on everyone, and it isn't Midway's fault, not is it their job to make the make the ammo. They can only sell what they get in stock, and they are usually fast and fair in all dealings I've had with them. But, recently, I've experienced an issue that is confusing to me, and it appears out-of-character for Midway. With that said, here goes:
Last year, Midway was allowing backorders on .22 rimfire. However, they quickly stopped allowing backorders on .22. The terms were that you have to make sure your credit card is up to date, etc., until they actually complete your order. All seems fair.
During this brief window of opportunity, I backordered various types of .22LR, including CCI Mini-mags in both 36 and 40 grain. They had limits on the amounts you could backorder, and truthfully, I maxed out limits on Mini-Mags, stingers, and some cheaper flavors too. I didn't over-do it, but I picked about 10 different flavors.
I wanted whatever I cold get, and believed that a good mix of low-cost and higher-end might result in "something". Like most of you, I also use the "notify me" when back in stock feature that Midway allows for .22LR, and other items. Like most of you, I continue to get Midway email alerts that the .22 ammo I'm interested in is "back in stock". And again, like most of you, the .22 is sold out as soon as I hit the link.
Today (09/04/14) I received another Midway email, stating that the Mini-Mags (both 36 and 40 gain) were back "in-stock". I went to the site, and actually managed to placed an order for 500 of the 36 gain, but the 40 grain were sold out. (I have not yet received order-confirmation from Midway).
So here's my issue: my backorders for the Mini-Mags are still listed on my account! So, simply said, it appears to me that Midway is not honoring the backorders? It could be that they are shipping "some" backorders, and also offering "some".22LR to "non-backorders?" I've asked Midway about this in the past, and received a general response that they doing their best to fill back orders, etc., but they have not responded to the specifics of my questions. Considering that California "might" ban the internet purchase of ammo, has Midway lost interest in my account? Thanks in advance for any constructive comments.

it was said on another thread today that they send out some to back orders and put some up for sale to be fair to the rest of their customers.Comment

Yeah its pretty obvious Midway is selling some to back orders and some loose to customers. Its not fair to those of us that placed back orders. If they dont honor mine before it expires I will be shopping elsewhere. After roughly $50k worth of Midway business this is their last chance. 10k Minimags 11/13.......Comment
