    Taurus M94 wheel gun. Thoughts?

Thinking about getting a Taurus M94 .22LR revolver . Did the Google-fu, mixed reviews.
So would like feed back from Calgun owners on this gun. Plan to use it for plinking and light target. Just want a wheel gun actually. I know the Smiths and Rugers are a better gun, but out of my price range.

I had an M85 and had lots of fun with it. Did not expect any more out of it then it was.

I have one and like it. It has a really heavy DA trigger but the SA is really nice. Only problem I've had is with dirty ammo after about 200 rounds they get a little hard to eject them.
      Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

I had a M94 for about a year and a half. It was great through the first 1100 or so rounds, but then it started spitting shavings back at my face, so the timing was off. I sent it back to Taurus, and they did a great job in repairing the gun and getting it back to me quickly, but I had lost interest in it at that point. Also the DA trigger pull was horrendous. Would I buy another one? Probably, if I caught it on sale for $299 somewhere.

The bobble action is too heavy

Attempts at reduced power springs get you inconsistent ignition.
Only gun purchase I've ever regretted. Suck it up and buy a used Smith.

Sorry for bobble action. Should read double.

Had one for years, worked fine and looked nice (I had the stainless/rosewood version from way back). But the DA trigger made it useless for bringing new shooters up to speed and didn't do me much good either.

I've heard rimfire revolvers all have strong DA triggers so it may not be much of a ding against the 94.

Had two. Regret selling them. If you can find it PPT the 4" is the best.

Had one, the DA trigger pull was terrible so I sold it.

Mostly shoot my K-22. Smiths cost more and they are worth it.

Came across a NEF R92 for a cheap price and bought it. I like it better than the Taurus too.
People don't like to be meddled with. We tell them what to do, what to think, don't run, don't walk. We're in their homes and in their heads and we haven't the right. We're meddlesome.

I always thought the Taurus .22 revolvers looked nice but never shot one... Yeah the Ruger and Smith can be $$$. I have my first rimfire revolver jailed now - a Ruger SP101. It just came in today. I got it (factory new) for $462+$15 shipping on a Gun Broker no reserve auction. Lucked out.

I checked it out today at the FFL and it is perfect. Beautiful revolvers. Double action pull is not light, but seems manageable and single action is great. I am dying to shoot it. It was a choice between a Single Ten and the SP101... I just lucked out and found that auction. I still want a Single Ten.

Look at used shops and auctions and you might find a great deal. The Single Tens are $500-$550 I think. Price I was quoted locally for a SP101 was $565 if one turned up. Another local place has one for $599.

I would save my money for a Ruger Single Action or a Smith if you want Double Action.

People seem to like the little Ruger LCR .22 DAO too. There's a new Single Nine .22 mag also.

I am the OP. The Taurus just was not going to work out. Supply issues.

So, I orderd a Ruger SP101 .22LR. In jail now. When I get my hands on it
will report. Already ordered a spring kit for it. What else can you for 10 days?
Thanks to all above that provided feed back.

Congrats! Let me know how you like it and how the spring kit changes the pull. I still think the Single Ten is just as good looking and probably almost as fun... but I am used to a double-action revolver and being able to dump all spent rounds at once to reload quick. That was one thing that steered me away from the Single Ten - at least this month

I DROS the SP-101 8-shot on Tuesday with my M1A so I am excited.

I found the stock grips on the SP101 a tad uncomfortable because of their size. I put on a pair of the Hogue monogrips and it feels much better. The trigger pull also felt easier because my hand fit the gun better.
