    rimfire hand cannon!

    Hi everyone!
I picked this up a while ago actually, but i never got around to sharing with everyone here for one reason or another. It deserves better than these cell pics, so i'll try to locate my camera and take some better shots later. But just to get the saliva flowing....

    S&W 617....pre-lock....... with an 8" barrel

like i said, pic quality isnt the greatest and didnt even have time this morning to clean the gun. Believe it or not I carry this gun on our ranch.... I built a western style gun rig with a very wide belt, so the weight is spread pretty well. Its really more like shooting a small rifle then a handgun, and its accurate as all get-out. plus I can shoot all the fun specialty 22 rounds.... or at least when they're available. enjoy!

    Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

Very nice gun. I really wanted to get one when I was in the market for a 22 revolver recently. Couldn't bring myself to part with the best chunk of 1k though, so I got a Single Six.

That's a lot-o-gun for 22lr. But they are good for rabbit hunting.

I thought about getting the tracker in 17hmr.... But saw too many mixed reviews. I like yours though!

It makes people laugh when they realize it's a 22. But it does great with squirrels and rabbits, so I love it.

I do like single sixes but I wanted a double action since I tend to carry it with a couple different loads at times. I wasn't even searching for a S&w...... But then I laid my eyes on it.

Yes it is. Despite what you've heard they really do make some nice guns.

Yeah, I've heard some not so good things about all revolvers in .17HMR. A lot of people are blaming the case design. Too far of a jump for such a small diameter bullet.

I bought this one and showed it to a friend and he said oh that's nice. As soon as he saw that it was a .22LR he said OH, you want to sell it?

I said no at first. I came back to him 3 or 4 days later and said do you want to trade? He said for what? I said for your S&W Bodyguard .380. He said OK. We did the trade a couple of days later.

Now I have a Taurus 94 5" in blue. Not as nice as the Tracker but I still like it.

Where did you get the scope mount? I didn't know they made one for the Tracker, wonder if it would work on my 357 Tracker?
                    Thanks for the photo.

What you have is a very nice .22LR revolver, especially considering it is a pre-lock S&W.

This is a hand cannon - .45-70 barrel on Thompson Center Contender, .22LR, .357 Magnum and .223 Remington cartridges alongside of two .45-70 cartridges for comparison.

you should consider attaching a bipod to that beast.
