Is the M&P22 for sure 100% falling off the roster on 5/10?
Has anyone or S&W confirmed that small changes/upgrades have made it not applicable to renew with for the roster?
Just making sure since I can't DROS another gun until after 5/5, and I already have a couple of new ones that I ordered months ago still waiting to get DROS'd. I was just wondering if I should still push those back again and get the M&P22 if it's for sure dropping from the roster.Comment

I just broke mine out of jail yesterday, i cant wait to shoot it.
I believe S&W has said they will let all of their semi-autos fall off the roster except for the shield and the SD VE models.
So that may 10th seems pretty solid to me.https://www.activejunky.com/invite/132380

I shot mine for the first time earlier this week. Ran 300 rounds of different ammo through it without any issues.
Size of it is great compared to my SR22. Only downfall is the scarce availability of magsComment

I believe the accuracy is typical to this style of handgun. I doubt you will find a service type semi auto pistol with the same accuracy as your Ruger MKII target with bull barrel. Those are known to be more accurate... Longer and heavier barrel is pretty much a given to be more accurate.Originally posted by CJ5&G23The M&P 22 has been reliable and less picky about 22 ammo than some other pistols, but I do have one complaint. It is not very accurate. The slide can wobble left/right and up/down on the rails quite a bit. Too much in my opinion. I haven't had an opportunity to handle any others to see if this is a generic trait or not.
It's fun as a cheap trainer for other caliber M&P's, and a decent plinker. Not as accurate as a Buckmark, but runs longer between cleaning than a Buckmark.
For today's 22 offering's, I prefer Ruger. My MK-II 5.5 bull barrel is my all around favorite. Most accurate, better sights, dependable, consistent, eats most 22 fine, runs a longer time between cleaning...
Knowing this going in, after I bought my M&P22 I was actually quite surprised at just how accurate I was shooting it with good ammo. I have no complaints regarding accuracy. It is actually better then I expected it to be. I knew it wouldn't be as accurate at a target pistol.Comment

I was at Turners last Thursday and they had a sign up and a pic of the M&P 22 and said that it was falling off roster. Is the M&P22 for sure 100% falling off the roster on 5/10?

All of the remaining semi-autos will be going through a design and or manufacturing change and they will not include the microstamping into the new design or manufacturing process. So there will not be any other semi-autos on the list in the very near future from Smith and Wesson.Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

Hey Morrcarr67, I clicked on your pizza pic and I can't wait to try it. Hopefully I can make it to the Monrovia FM within the next couple of weeks.
Ok, now back on topic; I just test fired my M&P 22 with its newly installed Dawson Precision sight and I was very impressed, much nicer than the stock set. My wife and son will be shooting the Rimefire Steel Match in Piru this weekend with the M&P and Ruger 10/22.Comment

I picked up MP22 for my daughter April 1st we put at least 1000 rounds and I had several issues
1) misfired almost every other round
2) Jammed
3) casing wasn't ejecting
I sent it pack to S&W now waiting for the results. I thought it could of been the ammo i was shooting federal then i switched to cci and still had the same issue. I took apart the entire pistol and magazine cleaned them and tested again got the same issue. Looked around on different forums any many had the same issue but no one posted updates on repairs so as soon I get a response from S&W I will post updateComment

Im using tetra grease , but this slide issue is fairly common from the research ive dont. Its not lubrication , its either that the slide gets off track or the hammer & spring get sticky so when its in the upright position its a mission to rack the slide , but when the hammer is down everything operates normally and smoothly
im going to punch out the pins and clean and inspect every piece of the assembly to see whats going wrongWTB:
1)AR15 Aero Precision Skeletonized Lower
2)S&W 686 6in barrel ...686 No dash through 686-4
3) Saltworks M5 upper/lower set

Last week, I took my new MP22 to the range for the first time and put 600 rounds of a variety of 22LR thru it without a single FTF or FTE. It's a really nice shooting, accurate pistol that feels good in the hand and it was enhanced even more by adding a Dawson sight to it before it's first trip to the range. I like this gun. A lot!Comment

I've only had mine a few days, I don't think I've fired more than ten rounds through it.
I'm not a big "handgun guy", but I really like the M&P line. I already had a M&P9. When I found out the .22 was falling off the roster I had to get one.

My wife has 800 rounds through hers, all CCI Blazer. A handful of times we've had an FTF on the first round. I thought my wife might have been riding the slide, but in other threads I've read that some magazines don't retain the first round well and if you are a bit too forceful inserting the mag the front of the cartridge may partially disengage from the mag. I've also read that in this case S&W recommends slightly closing the lips of the magazine.
We're picking up our second M&P 22 tomorrow, the "his" version. I'm really looking forward to putting a couple of magazines through the 22 next time at the range before switching to my M&P 40.Comment
