On my second HP22a right now. After about 800 rounds on my first one the hammer broke. Dropped it off at Phoenix arms, guy says "you been firing high velocity ammo haven't you?". He also said not to use the product GUN SCRUBBER on the pistol either. My bad.

They covered it under warranty and a week later a new one arrived at my LGS. Never had to repay the DROS, they covered the costs. Also I got to keep my old mags plus they threw in a couple more for free.

In my experience they are a good company to work with.

And my opinion on the gun, well it is fun to shoot, and only cost $125, just make sure to shoot standard velocity ammo and don't use gun scrubber on it, fun little plinker, but I would have a hard time trusting my life with it.

Although some gun snobs sneer at it, it's easy and fun to shoot! The size and weight of the pistol make it great for kids just learning. The trigger on mine is better than some .22 pistols costing twice as much. Who cares if it's made of molded pot metal. If the frame cracks, it's got a lifetime warranty.

      Have fun with yours!
Spoke with ADCO makers of Super Thumb mag loading tools. They said not enough volume of sales to tool up to make one for the HP22A. BUT suggested I take one of their 380 single stack mag loading tools and dremel down the sides of the part that pushes the round into the mag. I happened to already have one so I did narrow it down and now I have something that will save my fingers!

Turners ordered me a Deluxe kit a couple years ago; Bud's was spreading fud. I ordered an extra safety and modified it so if I ever need to send it in for repairs, I'll just put the intact safety back on.

Been too busy chasing 22 ammo to order up the spare parts and mags for the HP22A

I figured on getting an extra safety for the reason you mentioned.

The problem with Buds is they have ADDED letters to the item number to describe what kind of finish the pistol has. Their item number with added letter inventory code does not show on the Roster so they won't ship it to Kommifornica. Their inventory number & code do not appear on the Phoenix box or pistol. I explained this to them in great detail, that they were wrong and they should contact Phoenix Arms to corroborate what I was telling them. Never got a reply for that effort!
