Thinking of a New .22LR

Hey guys Im in the market for a new Semi Auto .22lr. I currently have a Savage BSEV in .22lr and absolutely love it. I couldn't have anymore fun for the amount of $$ I have invested into it. I just want something semi auto. Something accurate, but awesome to plink with.

Im basically looking for a Nice Semi auto .22lr. I was looking into the Walther MP5 Series or maybe their HK416. Then I came across the Anschutz MSR RX22 "Scar" style rifle. Money isn't a huge concern. IMO spending $500+ on the Walther and $800 on the Anshutz isn't a big deal, as long as the Anschutz is worth the price difference. I know they are known for the best Bolt guns, but how are their Semi's?

Sig 522. Alot more metal than some of the competitors, so it is a little heavy, but it is a winner. My wife loves hers!

I know it sounds like you want a rifle. As much as I like my 10/22 takedown because its reliable, easy to strip and clean and accurate. I've become bored with it, I have way more fun shooting a .22lr pistol as a plinker. Just feels more rewarding for me to hit a target with it.

That being said I really been having fun with my M&P 22, great reliable, takes bulk ammo, accurate and easy to clean. Just my two cents.

Colt M4 (Made by Umarex/Walther) looks, feels and handles just like a Colt AR-15. About 1,000 rds thru it now and only had a couple of FTE's after about 200-300 rounds. A quick field clean and it was good to go again with no other issues. I got it for $525+tax & DROS at Big 5 on sale a year ago.

Got one of them too! I seem to always gravitate in using my Colt M4 OPS most of the time when I go out. The SIG 522 shoots equally well and eats anything I throw at it just like my Colt.

Got the SIG-522 for $450+ Tax & DROS last year at my LGS.

I wanted to get better with the AR platform so I put together a Taccom 22 very similar to this:

The lower of course is a back up to my 223 ARs.

I've had some issues but I still recommend.

Ruger 10/22. Really needs no explanation.

However, smith and Wesson mp15-22. All the ergonomics of the AR. Plenty accurate. More fun than anything. Probably going to run around $500 but totally worth it.

I know the anschutz doesn't have the wonky barrel sleeve that the ISSC version does, beyond that I don't know about the difference. I saw the RX22 in person and the asking price didn't seem horrible, but it's still a big unknown even though it's been out for a little while now. With that said, I'd take a S&W 15-22, or an AR lower with a dedicated upper(not a conversion kit) over the RX22 for sure.
