I just want to buy it scope/dot it and punch paper.
    Thoughts???
    Thanks
Just curious. Why are you against assembling or buying a dedicated .22 upper for the Lower you have? You know the Lower can be used for both a .22 upper and a .223 upper right? SW 15-22s cannot do that and Ruger 10-22s are as far from "Tacticool" as you can get..I hate that word. Sorry, sounds like something a 12 year old would say

This beats the crap out of any 10-22, SW 15-22, very accurate, 100% reliable with any ammo I run through it. And very, very fun..And you can swap from .22 caliber to .223 in a few seconds. Try that with the SW 15-22..

Mine in the picture is 5.5 pounds, and it is a "real" AR..Not a Plastic copy of one..

Agree 100% - my 15-22 has made every range trip, 10/22 has become more of a safe queen but it is my first rifle Dad bought for me years ago

For the $$$, reliability and accuracy out of the box, the Remington 597 AAC-SD is hard to beat. Add an A2 muzzle brake and you are there. Shoots HV and SV ammo great, no issues. Only down side is the magazine is hard to get that 10th round in. Over time I expect it to loosen up. Love mine.

Ruger 10/22. It is easy to work on parts are in abundance and reasonably priced and yes you can modify a 10/22 to be as tacticool as any tacticool guy would want

No love for a Marlin Model 60 in here?
If you don't want to mod it out I think it's a better rifle than a 10/22.
Plus, when you (legally) load that 14th round in the tube you can feel like you're stickin' it to the man.

                Thanks everyone!
Been looking at the ruger sr22 rifle. 10/22 all dressed up. But the sr22 is hard to find in a LGS.
The Remington is in the running. 22 complete upper is in the mix somewhere now to.
And yes I also hate the word "tacticool" too. But I couldn't think of another word for it.

                  How about a RAV 22?

                  Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

I got a 10/22, and a cmmg complete .22lr upper. I love both, and I think they could totally compete with each other, but the ar-15 .22lr has all the features that the 10/22 lacks like last round hold open, bolt release, standard picatinny rail instead of weaver, pistol grips rails etc...Yes you can add some of those feature to a ruger, but they aren't the same. With a dedicated upper I bet the accuracy is on par with any other .22lr rifle out there. to each his own. Hope you find what you were looking for!
