A durable red dot sight for $100?

This isn't a self defense gun, nor a hunting gun. This gun will never be dragged through anything more difficult than a sandy/dusty outdoor shooting range.

$1000 red-dots have their place, but it's certainly not on a 10/22.

Most Sig 522s don't come with folding irons. So I would put on the Primary arms with the absolute co-witness. The Sig 522 is better with lower sights.

I have one and I bought a Midwest Industries front sight (made for the 556) and Troy for the rear. But when I decided to run a red-dot I went with 1/3 co-witness which was a mistake. The rifle works better with a lower sight.

You guys talking up this Primary Arms one are about to make me do something I told myself I'd never do again... Buy a cheap dot sight. All dot sights I've owned over the years ended up in the trash, except for my Bushnell Holosight (made by EoTech). Still going strong after ~10 years on multiple rifles...



Sure wish someone would make an inexpensive 1 moa dot sight.

Nailed it. Another option is the Burris Fastfire II(this dot won't fail you on any caliber).

I've had Primary Arm's red dot on my 12G shotguns and ARs without any problems. Great stuff for under $100.

+1 on the TRS 25, I have two then again they are they only red dots I have.

My TRS-25 surprised the heck out of me by still holding up. An even bigger surprise is that the crappy UTG hasn't broken yet. I bought another TRS 25 for just in case and it's still sitting in the box unused. Clone manufacturers are getting better at what they do. AimPoint and EOTech take notice.

I got a 2X TruGlow red dot a couple or so Black Fridays ago for $60-ish or something. Been thoroughly happy with it. They make a 1X that's around half the price as well. I think regular price for the 2X is $100-ish. maybe a bit more.

I have a Vortex Strikefire not the sparc. If the 2x magnifier on that one is like the strikefires it makes little to no difference with or without it on, plus it shrinks your field of view on the eyepiece. So I personally wouldn't make my decision just on the extra 2X.

Just to stay on topic. I have the TRS-25. It's been on an AR and its currently on my 10/22 takedown. It hasn't been treated like a baby, but it hasn't gone to war either. It's worked and held zero fine on both rifles.
