Buying my first 22lr

I don't think the Beras 22 is on the Calif approved list.
Just tried checking, but website is down.
I was actually interested in buy a Bersa 22 awhile ago,
but could no find it on the list.

The Bersa 22 is an aluminum lower, has a decocker, is double/single action, and actually a conceal carry possibility. The Buckmark is more full size, and the Ruger 22/45 is unreliable. I went to trade my Ruger 22/45 on a Bersa and all I could get was $75.

Which 10/22? If you are one prone to tinker or mod your stuff, buy the most basic 10/22, because you'll eventually upgrade everything. And stay away from rimfirecentral.com....you'll shortly won't have any $$$ anymore

I'm on my 2nd 10/22, before firing one shot; I upgraded and modded 95% of the rifle. It's one of the most fun firearms to own and a joy to shoot.

I agree there are so many guns and so lil time!! My first .22 rifle was my Dad's ol remington pump fieldmaster .22 short,.22l,.22lr. Its amazing, as it is accurate after so many years. I know it would probably be a little more expensive, but not by much. Or, I just picked up a pump Winchester model 61 .22 s,l,lr for 250.00 from a pvt seller. these hold,approximately 15-17 rnds in their tubes. Browse around at your local pawn shops, look at Guns America on the web to get a price, even though they ask for a pretty penny. you just cant go wrong with a .22,High Standard,Ruger Government Model. 10/22 and or a 22/45 or MkIII . They take a licking and keep on ticking. Parts are easy to find and the guns are easy to work on.

All good options. I am a bit biased. I do need to ad a 10/22 to my collection. I have my brothers Marlin 60 (borrowed) that I also really like. It has a beautiful wood stock.

So i went ahead and jailed a stock 10/22 no bells or whistles on it.Only thing it has is bright optic sights.Besides that it's as stock as can be for now i guess...I am sure this will not be the last 22 i get as i really like some of the suggestions given to me here.

Marlin 795 or Ruger 10/22

A Ruger if you're into customizing things. The Marlin if you want a rifle more accurate than you are.

I'm sure you'll like it. If you don't for some reason, there's a 10/22 Legoland of options out there to improve it.

As I noted before, I don't own one anymore but that's mainly because I favor bolt-action .22s now. I do still have this over-bored 10/22 I like though.
