Mine broke a firing pin after about 3000 rds or so. Can't remember.
Smith & Wesson sold me another one for $10 + shipping.
I used THIS to take it apart and repair it.
I also like the P22 bible. Great info when you are looking under the hood and wonder what's going on.
Good little accurate pistol. Some subsonic ammo makes it gag.

I'll have to see when I pick it up but it might be the P22Q, thought I saw it on the case but really can't remember. Gonna look at the dros paperwork when I get home

I have one that eats everything and is very accurate. I've never done any work or mods to it.

Stupid question, the p22 doesnt havea " threaded barrel" does it? Was looking at picking up a 5 inch barrel kit and saw the barrel looked threaded. Then reading the disassembly instructions and it looks like all have a barrel nut

So how do you remove/ change the barrel on a Cali variant then? Is it secured to the gun differently?

                They all have threaded barrels.
The CA compliant ones have the barrel nut lock-tighted on. And there is no flat grooves on the barrel nut making it much more difficult to remove.

The P22Q removed the internal key-activated "lock" for the pistol, and they changed the texture of the grip from raised dots to a bloopy kind of puddle-splash.

Where there is a will there is a way. I plan on picking up the 5 inch barrel kit down the road, sounds like I will need to order a standard barrel nut as well

I put a Target kit on mine, makes it an entirely different shooting experience. The nut will come off after heating with a small torch until hot, not super hot, let cool, then re-heat. I used channel lock pliers with copper tubing over the jaws to keep from tearing up the nut. You can get a new nut and the wrench from Earl's Walther Repair. Link below:

                        Anyone got any pointers?

I have a older one that did have some issues getting to run right at first, but now it has no problems.

Like people said if there are some issues google P22 bible and a couple easy mods will get it running great.

But the newer ones should be good to go.

CCI mini mags and Remington Golden Bullets run great. It likes high velocity.

Federal bulk pack is pretty low powered so if it has issues with that switch to Golden Bullets or CCIs, but if it runs Federal Bulk you should be able to run anything.

Also if you can get some dry moly powder to lube it, it will really help keep it from getting dirty and cruddy and cut down on cleaning intervals.

A dry lube is perfect on this gun and lots of .22s

Mine pretty much eats up anything it's fed. I've been using Winchester M-22's lately and those have been flawless.

Mine has been great as well.
                            Doesn't like certain kinds of ammo,so I don't use those brands.Lol
CCI(any) Blazer(the cheap stuff) & Winchester seem to be the best for my gun. It really works well with most non plated ammo. It's plenty accurate too.
                            Great gun for new shooters.

I don't think mine is going to get as much use as it once did, since I bought a S&W M&P 15. That is one fun pistol to shoot, not picky about ammo, and mine had Dawson Precision sights when I bought it. Lots of fun. It's barrel has a nut on it just like the P-22.

Picked it up tonight, it was made this year based on the BD on the barrel. Gonna clean it good tonight and let my daughters go to town with it tomorrow. I bought it for them to learn on a low recoiling pistol, all my other pistols are too big or heavy or hard recoiling
