    New Walther P22

Just bought one last night for my girls to shoot. Once I get it gonna a couple different types of ammo to run in it to see if it is gonna be finicky.
    Anyone got any pointers?

Pretty hard to do that as Mini Mag is not all that easy to find these days.

My son's grandpa was going to sell us one of these for very cheap a year or so ago. We tested it with all the bulk brands and minimags.

We hated it. It was about as accurate as a spit wad and was only about 80% reliable no matter the ammo. And to top it off, it was a ***** to clean. We gave it back. Was going to sell it to us for only $100 and it was nearly new.

We recently bought an M&P22 and it's just in another league. Eats everything (so far) and is very reliable. The only problem we have is sometimes the first round in a full mag "boners" when you drop the slide.

I bought one used and was not impressed. Worked ok with the Federal 525's and CCI bulk, but accuracy... never mind, can't use accurate in any sentence containing Walther P22. My kid like to shoot it just because of the laser sight it came with. It is her nightstand gun just as a last resort. The laser should give an intruder pause, and it still goes bang.

I would call that very reliable in the world of 22LR. We aren't talking about an HD gun here.

AND I didn't have to perform a "bible's" worth of mods to get it there either.

The M&P also shoots 1inch groups at 7yds with Golden Bullets. The Walther could barely do 5inches at 7yrds.

Mine has been reliable for the thousands of Wally Federal bulk I have shot out of it.

Here is a pic with big brother.

My ruger Mk 1 and 2s are very reliable and dont
                    "Boner".
                    As for the P22
The mod was the best thing I have done
                    to it.
                    And quess what.
                    It does not "Boner"

maybe you should . Or do you like the " Boners" it gives.

Mine shoots fine..No 5in groups but it does group at .99 of an inch
                    Sorry for the thread jack.

                    It is what it is.
                    Another pot metal gun.
                    I love it.
                    If it works enjoy it.
                    If not...P22bible.

Enjoy it..Its great for small hands

Mine loves Remington golden bullets and hates federals. Anything high velocity will work.
I haven't used CCI, but I'd rather shoot 2x the ammo for the same price with bulk and save the CCI for precision shooting.

p22 bible is definitely the way to go. So far I haven't had any FTF with Winchester 22 wildcat and CCI Mini Mags. Haven't tried any other brands yet

I've used mini mag and remington golden bullet with no issues and a couple thousand rounds. don't know why everyone hates these things so much. got mine cheap, runs like a champ.
Buying a safe and sane firework is like paying a hooker for a hug. I do not see the appeal in it.

Same here. Those two run great. Golden Bullets is easiest to find and cheapest. Cabela's has them regularly - a few times every month.

I don't hate mine now that it runs, but I don't love it.
