All use Taccom Ultra Light barrels but were not built with the intention of being light weight.

Congrats! At minimum I would get the Taccom firing pin, well worth the money.

If you use the better mag adapter can you now not use black dog mags? Are the m&p mags the only ones that actually hold the last round open? because black say they don't hold their last round open. I guess I will be going with M&P mags and better mag adapter thing. lol

                My Taccom style AR22:

I'm using a BCM ambidextrous charging handle; seems to work fine.

                    > From what i gather the complete upper lacks the forward assist feature, but comes with the receiver and barrel, but are the bolt the same?

It was my impression the bolt was the same, but the conversion kit has a chamber adapter that isn't needed with the dedicated upper which has the correct chamber as part of the barrel.

Here is the deal, running the upper with just Black Dog machine mags the bolt will lock to the rear on the last round. Upon removal of the mag the bolt shuts. You have not use of the bolt release/lock lever, however.

With the Better Mag and M&P15-22 mags the bolt not only locks to the rear on the last round, you have use of the bolt release/hold open lever.

Oh man that's sweet. I like that better than the catch 22 bolt I bought. Thanks for posting that.
And I just ordered it from redi mag. 40 bux but it doesn't show the shipping cost yet, I assume it will be emailed at the process of the order.
