What he said. Super colibri is way to loud in a pistol.

...tried colibri in a pistol with a 7.5" barrel and it's still unacceptably loud; no way i'm trying super colibri with it in the backyard...

I have some Super Colibri. I think I paid about $25 for 500 about a year ago.

I have shot it in my Savage 64 rifle. It is very quiet, just "click" and then "thwap" when the bullet hits the target. Quieter than a pellet gun.

I have never had a squib, but they do not cycle the action. Even feeding them manually is a pain, because the bullet is so short it hangs on the feed ramp. I have to use the tip of my knife to guide them into the chamber.

That being said, they sure are fun to shoot in the yard.

I am looking for an older bolt action .22 for my backyard range time.
Just taking up space in (what is no longer) the second-worst small town in California.

Are you sure you have Super colibri and not colibri? I have a bolt action marlin with a 24" barrel and I found the super to have quite a loud pop to it.

Another option to colibris are CCI CBs. CB shorts are a hoot in a lever gun. I think I could fit more than 20 in my Henry.

i have tried the slow stuff they make and it cycled a Remington semi-auto rifle i had just fine. I gave the rifle to my brother and he managed to use these low sound rounds to kill a possum in the back yard without getting the cops called out.

I pulled the bullet off one because im nosy and just had to see inside. yup no powder at all just a little glue looking substance at the base of the case. pretty slick if you ask me. makes me feel like James Bond when shooting them but im not entirely all there in the head. still i like using them when shooting in the hills with new shooters or with a skittish pet around. still better then throwing a rock so if i find them for cheap i will grab some.
I fear paper cuts far more than firearms.

Definitely Supers. I bought them instead of the regular version because I was concerned about possible squibs in the rifle. They are very quiet.

I have a cheapo .177 pellet gun that is much louder with 5 pumps or so.

That's OK. I'm 50 years old and start grinning like a little kid when I shoot the "silent" rounds.
