SR22 is a great little pistol. I have one and have shot numerous different brands of ammo thru it without any issues. These include Federal Automatch, Federal Bulk, Remington SV, Federal American Eagle, Centurion, Wolf MT, SK Std+, Aguila Match Pistol, and even Aguila Super Sniper 60gr. Its favorite is the Federal Automatch. I may just be lucky when it comes to .22 pistols and ammo as my S&W 22A-1 shoots all the above ammo just as well.

Wow, it seems that the SR22 gets good ratings--I wouldn't by a Ruger based on shear ugliness. I'd get a browning since they are know to work and are much more pleasing to the eye.

Oh, I see you are stepping down from a buckmark--you will be sorely disappointed in the SR22, but they are cheap, so it's no biggy.

i love my ruger mk series.... a bit bigger than the compacts OP was asking for but they do work and are reliable - the 22/45 is a great trainer especially if you want the 1911 style grip blasting 22 instead of 45 acp

the NAA revolvers are awesome too
        I mainly shoot .22lr, 9mm,45 acp, 357 & 38, 12G, 7.62x39, .308, .223/556, 7.62x54r, 300 win mag, 8x57
