I find that I have to re adjust my rear sights {up & down}every now and then but other than that once its dialed in with your favorite brand of ammo its good to go

The SR22 has my vote also. I have about 1500 rounds through it with only 1 FTFire that I can remember and I have used a wide variety of ammo. It even went through the last box of Remington Golden I had with out any problems.

SR22 definitely! 2 bricks through it since Dec. 2012 and no issues whatsoever. I would recommend this .22 to anyone looking for a compact .22.

My Beretta 21A, NAA revolvers, Sharps .22 short pepperbox, Mossberg Brownie, Colt Lord and even my Davis .22lr derringer are all reliable and much more compact than the SR22. Personally, I wouldn't get a SR22 yet. It doesn't have a proven track record. Just look at the posts above. The guys who are claiming it's a great gun have barely shot theirs. 1000-2000 rounds is nothing through a .22lr. I'd like to hear from a lot of guys with 30,000-100,000 rounds through them before I would consider it a reliable well built gun.

SR-22, problem free. Paid 350.00 OTD for mine (no sales tax). Fits my tiny hands perfect.

Walther TPH and Beretta Model 70 family will fit your bill, if you can find them on used gun market.

My p22 has proven to be extremely reliable and accurate with all brands of ammo... it was a steel challenge practice gun for years...I bet it has 50k rounds through it.
My only major failure was the slide mounted safety.the detent failed and the safety would activate on its own...I permanently staked it...never used it anyways lol

Another vote for a Beretta 21a. Both of mine eat federal bulk without issue, and your not going to get much more compact without really effecting how it is to shoot.

SR-22 for sure I was worried because I have very large paws ....but no problems
I love it,the only problem is that everyone I take to the range loves it too and I never get any alone time with it

I'm just going to repeat what everyone said: SR22... however the one I shot had a horrendous trigger. reliable? yes... we were firing 60 grain "sniper subsonic" LRN and it ran like a champ... just don't expect it to be a tack driver. Personally I thought it would make an excellent nightstand gun for my 4' 4" Mom...

@Sabby: Man that is a nice pic! Thanks.

@CSACannoneer: I totally get what you mean. However you can "kinda" gauge what a gun will do "to a certain extent" by how it performs after just a few thousand. Once its fully broken in sometimes they fall apart, and sometimes theyre gold, as you are saying, but as I learned with my p22 and several of my friends p22's that sometimes they just dont work right from square one.

@ChadAllred: Im not trying to dump on you here bro. The p22 i had felt fantastic. It was just everything else that was horrible. I can deal with the mag release, etc but when it performs as horribly as these ones did, I cant see why they werent recalled. Im glad you got a good one man! Im super stoked for ya! I just have a bad taste in my mouth for them now. Thank you, but Im sorry I'll have to pass.

@G-Force: I'll look into one of those guys too! Id like to put my paws on one to see how my mangled pinky finger likes the grip, it looks REALLY tiny!

Sounds like Im definately getting a SR22 though, as for the other suggestions, well maybe I'll get some of those too in the future! I thank you all for the intuitive responses, it gives me ALOT of fun ideas! Now all I have to do is fund a gun shop that actually has some guns, and more importattly a SR22 for sale! LOL! Finding one might be the hardest part right now ha!

+1 on the Ruger SR22. If size is not a big priority, also consider a Smith & Wesson M&P22. I have one and it is a fabulous pistol. Many say it's the most reliable 22 with the widest assortment of ammo. I can vouch for that. But small it is not. It is a full size training replacement for the M&P 9 or 40.

If you're considering the Sig Mosquito, read forums first. It seems finicky and likes only high zoot CCI ammo.
