stand up for your rights call, email your reps and your congressmen tell them how you feel. and how you would like to keep your 2nd amendment and not to compromiss it.

      Definition of COMPROMISE
      1
a: settlement of differences by arbitration or by consent reached by mutual concessions

b: something intermediate between or blending qualities of two different things

      2
: a concession to something derogatory or prejudicial <a compromise of principles>

Because we're paranoid. That really is the only reason.

Everytime somebody buys a 10/22, a unicorn drowns in a Tsunami of skittles. Good riddance to these evil rimfire weapons of war!

Great job, thank you!! Yeah, I hear you about the email lists, but it's a small price to pay, IMHO. Anyway, you can always set those up to go directly into your spam folder when they start arriving....

                    Because of this

Right now there is a bill, SB 374 in the California Senate that will ban ALL SEMI AUTOMATIC RIFLES, specifically including rimfire rifles. That means that the 10/22 will be considered an Assault Weapon. If you have one, you can register it as a assault weapon, subject to use and transport/storage restrictions. You will not be able to sell it in state. You will not be able to lend, transfer, or gift it. And when you die it must be destroyed or given to Law Enforcement.

And if you are ok with registering as an Assault Weapon, consider the assembly person Bonta has drafted a bill that retroactively revokes previous "grandfather clauses" and registrations and requires "illegal weapons" to be destroyed or turned in without compensation. Slim chance of that, but it shows where they plan on going once they know what you have.

No, you are correct that the 10/22 is exempt.

This is how a panic starts, people too stupid to read the proposed bill and spreading bs.

Beautiful rifle! I gotta ask... what kind of scope mount is that? Would it work with the TD model?

I just read the bill SB374, and cannot find where the 10/22 is exempted. I either cannot read penal code, or am too stupid.

It is listed in appendix A (exempted firearms) around page 50 of the bill. It lists about 3 10/22 models.
