Got a wood stock 10/22 carbine out of jail at Big 5 last week. It was "on sale" back on 12/29 so I had a rain check.... They were able to tell me that they had several en route in their next shipment, so I called back a week later and they had it in stock.

You should be able to ask them to check other stores in the area as well.

I did try the 2 nearby local gun shops first, but they didn't have any and couldn't give any indication when they would have more.

Ruger in general has been keeping up with supply/demand.

22LR ammo is an entirely different story!!! hopefully there will be a huge supply once the ammo manufacturers catch up. 22LR is not a target of any politicians so maybe there will be more stock of it than ever before. we shall see.

          Really?

I just talked to a Genie and she told me that she was all out of Ruger 10/22's and that the ones that people really want are "Allocated".
          Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

I was trying to find one this weekend and NO one had any 10/22s. Stopped in at a local big 5 on a whim, and someone had just cancelled their order, so I picked it up. It was the last and only one they had.
Marlin 795s IIRC, were still available.

On my ammo hunts I have seen a few 10/22 carbines, so they are out there, at least in the greater sac area

Templar in Los Gatos had quite a few 22s yesterday. Rutgers, Marlins, Mossbergs, Savage, Chipmunks, Henrys... Yeah, a pretty decent selection of 22s.

well, relative to the other firearm manufacturers. Turner's was moderately stocked with Ruger about a week ago. They even had the TD 10/22 which has been hard to find from what i heard.

I was in Turners in Signal Hill (Long Beach) on Monday and they had at least 4 10/22's, a Marlin 60 (wood stock, looked nice, I was severely tempted but I'm saving up for an M&P40 when I can find one), and some others on their rack. So the rifles are out there, you just have to look for them.

.22lr ammo, as has been noted, is definitely in short supply.

22WMR is sitting on shelves all by its lonesome.

I had no problems buying 5250 rds at the Ontarion Gun show. It was about $24 a brick. CCi Blazer 40gr

I got on a wait list a few weeks back when Big5 had the 10/22 Takedown on sale. Got a call today (1/23) from them saying they had one if I wanted it. Unfortunately I'm out of town and they couldnt hold it for a few days. I'm still on the wait list for the next shipment.
