    Tacticool Rimfires

I have an MP15-22 and I'm looking to add another similar rifle. I wanted to get everyone's thoughts and opinions on the following rifles:

    - GSG MP5
    - Umarex MP5
    - Umarex Uzi
    - ISSC MK22 (SCAR look-alike)

I had had an .22 upper as well but would prefer a dedicated rimfire. Any others that you might recommend that aren't on my list would be appreciated as well.

I don't use it much lately but the GSG MP5 is fun to shoot and surprisingly accurate. I wouldn't use it as a club as it would probably break into 17 pieces but it is good to go for fun plinking. MP15-22 is my favorite tacticool now with shorty 10 rounders. Chiappa M1 carbine clone just gives me heartache.

I have the 15-22 and owned+sold a lot of other tacticool 22's and the 15-22 is "just right" IMO. I really cannot recommend any of the others. The MP5 was nice but I felt it was heavy for a 22.

Have you considered a regular 10/22 with the black stock and fire sights? I recently bought one and even though it's more traditional I really like it. The fiber optic sights are very easy to see, its light weight and very compact compared to the size & bulk of the 15-22.

I got my new Umarex mp5 out of jail a couple of days ago and have put about 110rds through it. After comparing it to the GSG the Umarex felt nicer in weight/construction and I have had no issues with it. I would venture to say the Uzi is the same quality of the Umarex.

The ISSC Mk22 I have no first hand experience with but I do know it had a few issues that you can find out using google. However i'm not sure if those issues have been addressed or not.

No interest in the sig? I played with all of those rifles at turners and ended up buying a 522.

I've also got a DPMS dedicated .22lr AR. I like the SIG A LOT.

How about a 10/22 with a Troy T-22 chassis? You wont have to invest in special magazines, at this time they are expensive and hard to find. And, there will always be parts for them.

                    I'd get a Sig 522 hands down.

I've tried the MP 15-22, MP5, Colt M4 .22 (which I bought as well), and have to say the Sig 522 is by far my favorite. Really reliable, accurate (for that class of rimfire), and just overall fun to shoot. It's also a breeze to clean.

I will certainly look into the 522. I had forgotten about that one. I had found stores with the Umarex MP5 in stock, the Uzi in stock, and the ISSC in stock. I haven't found the 522 in stock anywhere unfortunately.

If anyone knows of one anywhere in So Cal, please let me know so I can see one in person.

My cousin has the GSG and I'll tell you it runs no where near as smooth and consistant as my Sig 522

I had a GSG5, but I never really liked it. My biggest complaint was the trigger. I will say that it never gave me any issues with feeding or ejecting.

I have a 15/22 now and my friend has the 522. I think both are quality rifles and a better option.
