Same here the Rough Rider is a good gun, only issue is it is SA and takes time to reload and also only 6 rounds, but hey it make the ammo last longer with the kids.

why does it seem there is so much hate for the golden Bullets? i personally love them and favor those over other rounds. they are very accurate out of my 10/22 and ruger american rimfire. never had a FTF, FTE or any other failure and ive shot thousands of rounds in the last couple months out of both of those. for me the federal red bulks are trash. i had many failures with those and ended up giving away half a brick to someone at the range.

I bought a 100 pk of winchesters from Cabelas yesterday, combined with a bulk pack of Herters 7.62x39 on my Cabelas CC.
I have been monitoring Cabelas for a 500+ box of Fed or Rem.
I keep missing it by that much.
Don't really need them but its become a quest.
Not looking to flip or re-sell, just want enough to let some freinds shoot my MKIII without counting each round out like pills from a prescription bottle.
Went to 4 Walmarts in San Diego area early Saturday morning and nada.
I did find a 1200rd can of 9mm at the Aerodrive/15fwy Walmart.
Looked like it was clearance priced for $420.
Some sort of Turkish maufacture that I assume was brass cased.

Everyone is different. Those work great for you (me too) but not others. I will say, they leave way more carbon behind. But just clean it right,haha Some are willing to pay a little more and get a cleanier (maybe more accurate too) round and not deal with it.

My AR, I love shooting steel case as I dont worry about needing to save my brass. And its CHEAP. But man is it dirty. When I use it, I HAVE to do a fairly good cleaning afterwords. I find its the same with the Rem GB's....

My wife - a non shooter - can tell when I am shooting GB's due to the change in sound from round to round. When I compare the spent shells, they are significantly dirtier than other bulk ammo.

I still shoot them, but I use it my bolt action for plinking.

Yep. I agree. When I'm shooting 75 or 100 yards with my 10/22, just about all my CCI rounds and Feds 810's will hit within 4 inches. When I use the GB's, I might get 6-7 in that circle, with 1-2 out side of it, and 1-2 won't even hit the 24" X 24" target.

With the Fed Automatch and Champion, they all hit the target, but not as accurate as the CCI or 810's.

Norma USA TAC-22 Ammo are up at Cabela's. Hardly seem worth it with the shipping and 1 box limit. Think I'll pass, but best to anyone else.
