Well no, but $49 is a bit excessive. Especially since they don't tell you up front before ordering. They probably don't have as good a corporate shipping rate as say, a Cabela's or Midway, etc. but still, how hard is it to figure out UPS/Fed-Ex published rates by weight/zone?"I don't work for you!" - Joe Biden

Well gentlemen looks like SB-53 was shot down for the season!!!
I imagine that will put a damper on the panic buying and increase ammo availability.Comment

(Gun Rights Temporary Victories) News: Looks like the bill was suspended. Looks like we can keep our .22lr collecting hobby?SB-53 (de Leon): Requires ammo purchase "authorizations" recorded in a separate state database, requires all ammunition transactions to go through state-licensed ammunition vendors (including Internet purchases), records details of all ammunition purchases.
Status: 9/11 Senate - Joint Rule 62(a) file notice suspended..

I know .22lr has been tough to find in other parts of the country, but Cali shooters are worried about SB53 which would have banned all internet sales and force buyers to purchase from authorized ammo vendors. If SB53 is on hold for now, it should diminish the pressure here in Cali as well as the rest of the country.Last edited by Danodog; 09-12-2013, 11:25 PM.Calguns Contributor

A lot of people went for .22lr because the other ammo was too expensive. Also the introduction of dedicated .22lr uppers also added to the demand. A lot of guys could shoot their AR platforms for pennies on the dollar when they want to plink.Calguns Contributor

I was in Arizona labor day weekend. I was expecting to bring back more ammo than we shot. Did not happen.
Wal-marts around the NW Phoenix area, Peoria, Surprise, Glendale, pretty much only had hunting rounds, shotgun shells, and they look pretty much like the shelves here in most of CA. No 22lr, 9mm, 223 ,40, 45.
Cabelas in Glendale - the store pretty much reflects what we see here online no cheap decent 22lr, 9mm, 556/223, 45, etc. They had some but expensive stuff.
Shooters World in Peoria only had 60 rounds of 223 on the shelf lol PMC at $13.99/20rnds, bunch of 9mm at $18.99/50.
Locals we were with said, they usually stock up at the gunshows.
Only thing I saw more plentiful there was lots of standard capacity mags, and every other person I met had a CCW permit.
Just because there are less restrictions for them over there, it doesn't mean they have more available cheaper ammo up for grabs anytime of the day, 7 days a week. So don't expect that you can just cross the border on a whim and expect to bring home cases of ammo for cheap.Comment

Slow night it looks like... I think Gander had some Golden Bullet boxes earlier, of course they are OOS now... looks like they are also getting the 40 round boxes of AE and selling for $1.99 again - 40 of those would make a bucket.
I was just up late messing up some of my rifles... stripped out a screw head on an old EOTECH removing it to mount an Aimpoint. Had to hunt some EZ OUT's down on Amazon and then find the best price for YANKEE HILL replacement screws with the big knurled heads.
So I had to load up Rimfire finds before I pass out.Comment
