Simply figured our friends here would appreciate that info.

For the record So Cal Guns (4891 Convoy St San Diego, CA 92111)
has plenty of hiked up .22lr (17-20 cents/round) if you're in a bind.
Thanks for mentioning the cost of shipping...it helped me do some quick math to see if I wanted the bucket. @ .056 per round I'll take it.

Thanks for the heads up, backordered one for the heck of it. I am not holding my breath though, I have had three cases of Federal bulk 22 lr backordered from Midway since December(got in before they stopped accepting backorders), they still have not shipped.

I literally just witnessed SGammo sell out of winchester super x and CCI in under 5 min. I couldn't even get my credit card info in before EVERYTHING was gone and sold out. There were 2000 round cases along with 100 round packs. All sold out within minutes. This .22lr ammo hoarding/panic is really getting old and extremely frustrating!

Had to order some. I'm going to forget about it until it shows up at my office one day.

I'm right there with you! Not sure what everyone's deal is with the panic buying and hoarding still. Kinda frustrating that in order to go shooting means I have to hover around the computer and monitor ammo availability day and night.

My guess: Lots of New Shooters.

Good for the sport, but makes ammo-hunting more difficult. It also puts the ammo manufacturers in a very difficult spot. If they can, do they expand production? Right now, the demand is much higher than the supply, but how long does that last? And, what calibers should you manufacture? Low margin, high volume 22LR or much higher margin, low volume self-defense rounds of different calibers? Or hunting rounds? Many choices.

.22LR is the least profitable ammo for the manufacturers so it makes sense on why it is still in shortage, the centerfires just came back into availability within the last two months.

I am sure they will catch up on .22 in the next few months, then SB53 will be back and we will probably experience another panic and shortage.

I think there's lots of new shooters too. The people I know personally who have been getting into it tend to buy lots of guns and lots of ammo. There's plenty of people I never imagined getting the bug who are going nuts collecting and prepping. It is definitely good for the sport especially in this state.

Fact is the .22 lr shortage is not going to be over anytime soon. It will improve but I can't see supply ever fully catching up with demand anytime in the near future.

Back ordered 5 boxes of CCI 40gr. Almost 10 cents a round delivered, but I love my CCI.

I went to a garage sale last weekend. The old man was selling a bunch of stuff that was obviously firearms related. I asked him if he had any ammo. He said that all he had left was a bunch of .22LR that he had been "throwing in a can" for the last ten years. He told me I could have it all for $50. I told him I would pay $30. We agreed on $40. Prepare to weep...

Was at Duarte Walmart a little before 5pm today. Remington golden bullet 22 SHORT 50 round boxes. $4.27. There were at least 15 boxes.

And there was also 3 boxes of Federal 9mm 115gr, 50rd. I think it was $14 something a box.
