Dear ISIS, Texas is not known for their gun free zones.

Shouldn't at least some of the blame be placed on your employer?

With the prices of materials going up every year why would the price of ammo drop? Only way would be to move manufacturing to china or someplace with cheaper labor. Also, the factory workers and higher ups at the ammo companies also need raises to keep up with inflation from time to time. That money needs to be made up somewhere and yes, we pay for it. As long as the ammo is made the same way with the same materials, prices will go up over time on ammo just like everything else in this world.

I don't know. Do you work directly for Barack Obama? Only Congress can authorize the expenditure of public funds.

Up here in South Dakota we only have a population of 850,000 in the entire state. However less people to buy doesn't mean more ammo on the shelves. Our largest LGS who sells b/w 250-300 guns per week and was named Winchester's Dealer of the year has not had bricks under $74.99 since this has started. So even some of the big guys can't get it either. In order to try to keep his local customer base happy he has been paying outrageous prices from wholesalers. Our local WW has received no .22 LR in over 4 weeks.

But the president has to sign it into law and is able to veto if it doesn't meet his standards, which he threatened if the house sent him a bill with a raise over 1%.

I would love to buy online, but maybe your doing something different. if so, clue me in. thx
Check in on this thread a couple of times a day and the good people here post in stock ammo find links in real time. Or bookmark the pages for the bricks from the vendors below. I.E the Blazer page, Federal page, Remington page, etc. Check them now and then and you will eventually hit stuff in stock. If you do that, you should be able to pick up a couple of bricks a week at least. Usually from Cabelas, Gander Mountain, Midway, etc.

I stopped in the Walmart today about noon for some fishing stuff, and Dave the manager told me about the 40 boxes of Federal. I wasn't there that Sunday. If you show up at the HB Walmart at 7 am, you have a decent chance of getting .22. Dave is a good guy and always puts it out at 7. He told me today he has been getting in more of the Fed bulk, and the morning crowd is dwindling. When I would show up a few months ago there were usually 2 to 8 guys there.

I'm done buying ammo for awhile. When I get down to a couple of bricks, I'll start looking again. Like I said, I see too many signs that we've turned the corner on this mess, we are near or at the hoarder flipper saturation point, and once we hit that point the shelves will fill up fast. Very fast. And full shelves mean lower prices.

Well, it's a bit more complicated than that. But go ahead and blame whomever you want.

Any ammo finds out there? I'm just finding the usual gougers on Gunbot.

WTF ? Prez O is the best gun salesman ever. He MAY have set this 22lr shortage in motion, but fear has sustained it. The Brady bill (1980s somethingish) caused a panic. Y2K another panic etc. Its coming back (22lr) and will be as inexpensive as ever. BiggB

Its been mentioned but if you cant sit in front of your pc and wait for random ammo drops that go oos in minutes, you can go on gunbroker and find 22 for under .10/round. Obviously a lot more then 22 used to be but sigificantly cheaper then anything on gunbot right now.
