Is it worth the hassle? Just put the ammo in a couple empty pickle (glass) jars, throw in a couple packets of Silica gel packets and you're set.

Ammo club club rules say you keep it as is. Put it in a old coffee can, or something. That's how it works. No added exposure.

I would go through the hastle.
Cabelas will usually give you a free shipping or something for the effort.
        My 2 cents.

While Cabela's is a little cheaper, Gander Mountain makes the process fairly painless. I've had 1 issue with Cabelas and 2 with Gander so far this year.

I know it's a hassle. I'll take it off your hands if you just mail it to me.

I dont care that the ammo is all over the place. I care because someone at one of the hubs put their dirty hands on it and most likely stole some.

At least call them up and let them know. They need to get feedback if the stuff was packaged poorly. Emphasize to them that you think the packaging was not adequate. It might get them to improve their methods.

I was pretty shocked to hear a few pages back that C had slapped a shipping label on a 1000pk on M22 and shipped them.
For 30 years my Cabelas stuff has arrived well packaged and damage free.
Only exception has been a 100pk slider or winchesters that showed up with a broken corner and one round missing a few weeks ago.
They gave me free shipping on my next phone order for the missing round.

I just realized that after 3 months of hitting these stores hard, and taking delivery of over 16,000 rounds of .22lr within that time, I simply don't need any more and won't need anymore for a while.

Today I canceled any outstanding .22lr orders with Cabela's (including a few "glitch" orders I placed yesterday).

Thank you guys for playing this game with me, it's been fun but it's time for me to go out shooting now, I hope to see you guys around when I need to reload.

                    Satisfied Gunner, out.

Putting a label on an ammo box is quite common to me. I would say half of my M-22 purchases from Cabelas have been that way, along with a few other purchases. My bulk Gander orders always come that way. Not the slides, but the bulk boxes. My bulk Midway orders also come that way. It sure advertises the fact, but I've never had a problem.

Remember something about Cabelas. They ship from all over the US. Most of my purchases come sticky bubble paper wrapped with brown paper filling the voids. Not all though. There are a lot of people involved here. Sometimes I have a Rem 525 box that is literally floating inside a nearly empty box 6 times its size. But for the most part, I've found Cabelas' packaging very good.

U will come to find that you'll probably regret that decision when U need it down the road and
See the prices you'll be payin' then...

What is weird I counted all the rounds and I have 1002 so all in all I mightve left two out of the 100 I kept counting. Just the principle of someone putting their hands in a package. I feel violated lol

Call them and let them know they have shipped 2 bullets too much and you want to be honest about it.

Just received my package and wouldn't you know it... M22 box just shoved into another box barely large enough to hold it, without any of their usual overwrap on the product. The outer black box was a little crushed and one of the inner boxes had a broken flap but nothing spilled out. It could easily have been worse. I noticed from the tracking that this box came out of OH. You guys who buy big C stuff almost daily, is that a common location they ship out of? I seem to remember WI and IL for some past orders, but not OH. I could be wrong. Maybe this warehouse doesn't have their act together. When I get time, I might call them just to let them know.
