Wifes seems to like the Federal Bulk the best. Two weeks ago just for the heck of it I gave her some of my standard velocity CCI to try. I was skeptical it would cycle with the 1070 FPS CCI but it did just fine.

UPDATE!! My gun is firing federal bulk now. For some reason when I first got it it was not loading the second round no matter what I did. So I held the slide open for days ( I am thinking the recoil spring is stiff). And I have been shooting it everyday. It seems to be shooting well now. When it does mess up it is on the second round. And when I look at the cartridge it has a line going across it. Dont know exactly what it means. But anyways love it.sigpicComment

Hi, first post here. Picked up my SR22 just before Christmas and have put 700 rounds through it since. I have shot mostly CCI Mini-Mag and the gun and ammo have performed flawlessly. I also tried the cheap bulk Winchester .22 and had good luck with that also. Am able to keep the shots in the black (mostly!) to about 15 yards after a bit of practice and sighting in, so the weapon is accurate enough. It is not a target pistol and is not intended to compete with guns like the Ruger 22/45 as it only has a 3.5" barrel, but for my purposes it gets the job done.
I am not new to guns having owned a variety of firearms since 1978. The affordability of .22 ammo makes a lot of sense these days and allows me to shoot often and become more proficient. This is my fourth Ruger firearm, including the Mini-14 and a couple of 10/22's and all have been reliable weapons. I do intend to add an SR9 to my collection in the future and may have to start reloading as the economics of buying factory 9mm ammo doesn't work any more. I hope to do a lot more shooting with the SR22 and will keep you informed on how it's working and if any problems arise. Happy shooting!Comment

I had a nice surprise today, my SR22 shot the Aguila Super Sniper ammo (60gr bullet @ 950fps) flawlessly. I didn't expect the ammo to cycle the action reliably but no problems thru 4 magazines. This ammo is known to sometimes keyhole in barrels that are not 1:9 inch twist but didn't have that issue either. Might be a good SD round for those who only have the SR22 for that purpose.Comment

I picked one up a while back for a cheap range toy/plinker. It's probably had 700 or so rounds through it without any reliability issues aside from a few bad primers. Seems to feed the cheap blazer stuff just fine, about 200 rounds without issue. It's most definitely not a target pistol, but it's fun and cheap to shoot. Also, it's awesome for folks with little hands. It's about the only gun my girlfriend can reach all the controls on comfortably. She shoots it about 10x better than anything else we've tried aside from a little bearcat.Comment

I was at the range last week with my SR22 (and my Henry Survival Rifle). The SR22 was perfect with decent ammo (after the previous weeks problems with crappy ammo). On the lane next to me were a couple of girls with an identical, brand new SR22 that fired but would not eject or cycle...turns out they bought 22Long instead of 22LR - I gave them a mag full of 22LR and the gun worked perfectly. Goes to show that you need to read the box BEFORE you buy.Against stupidity the gods themselves contend in vain.

I broke in my new SR22 with CCI mini mags last night. 300 rounds and no problems. It started off shooting high and right, but found that the rear sight came from Ruger with it off set, so I had to adjust it as I was breaking it in.NRA, CGF, GSSF, SAF member

Had mine for a few months now and though I've never had any FTFs etc with it and its not picky about ammo, it just doesn't float my boat. The trigger is odd and as wonderful and simple as everyone makes the takedown out to be I just don't enjoy disassembling, cleaning, and reassembling the SR22 as much as my other firearms. It's too simple and brain dead to the point of awkwardness. It's my first 22LR pistol and I'm terribly underwhelmed whenever i shoot it. Regardless of the low cost of the ammo I'd much rather pay much more to shoot a larger caliber less.
My first time shooting it I found that one of the magazines it came with was defective which left a bad taste in my mouth and when Ruger sent me a replacement they hilariously shipped it with the base plate on backwards which didn't help my feelings about the SR22.Comment

I just picked up my sr22 from ammo bros yesterday, haven't shot it yet but feels fairly sturdy and decent. The one issue I'm noticing is the slide seems a bit crooked. Looking down the gun the slide is about 1/32" from the frame on the left side and 1/16" on the right. Anyone else have this issue?Comment
