    Ruger Sr22 pistol

Well, a couple days ago after waiting out CA. Pointless one handgun a month I was able to pick up a new SR 22 pistol. I have used quite a few rimfire rifles but as far as handguns in 22and my experience was limited to revolvers, my favorite the 22/45 by ruger and a few rounds through a Walther. We had some snow so I didn't bother setting up any paper targets but decided to test it out on bottles and cans.
I ran 100 rounds of cci mini mags and had no problems. Accuracy seamed good but without paper targets I couldn't say how well it grouped but so far I am satisfied withe what it will do. Ill folks up once I get a chance to realty test it. The main thing that stood out was the reset on the triger. After using the 22/45 by for so long the SR trigger got me a few times were I didn't let it reset all the way. Its not a bad trigger just going to take some getting accustomed to. Overall a nice small gun, seamed plenty acurate and well built with adjustable sights, so far seames reliable and I'm looking forward to running some more rounds through it.

The wife has one and it has been good but seems to only like CCI .22lr ammo. When trying to run cheap ammo through it, it keep giving plenty of FTEs and FTFs. However, good quality ammo works great with no issues.

I'm not implying my opinion worth any more than the next persons but the SR-22 was the first 22 pistol I've ever not been happy with. I shoot a lot of 22lr from various pistols (Ruger MkII's, browning buckmark, Sig Hammerli Trailside, High Standard, M&P 15-22 pistol, a couple revolvers).

Those are all guns that have been enjoyable to shoot, however, I took my new SR-22 to the range one time, brought it back and sold it used at a small loss. Granted it did go bang, and I don't recall any failures, but the trigger was long and heavy, had a short sight radius, and was small for my taste even with the larger grip insert. For me I was not able to shoot it with the accuracy results I am accustomed to.

Each person has different criteria. Some people are happy just to have it go bang. Go bang it did, but that was the only benefit I perceived from the SR-22.

I shot mine for the first time yesterday. It was pleasant to shoot. No ejection problems, no misfires, no misfeeds. The grip is adjustable, and perfect for large, weak, small and elderly hands.

After a hundred rounds or so, I noticed that I would take my eyes off the sights, open both eyes, and shoot smiley faces on my target (at 20 feet away).

The Ruger SR22 is an absolute joy to shoot. And I only have large caliber guns until now.

I'm nearing 4000 rounds in the last 2 months i've had my sr22.
so far no problems other than FTF's with cheap ammo every so often.

I did notice that the gap between the slide and the frame is larger on the right side than the left. I thought it was just me, but it turns out that quite a few people have this problem. I really didn't care as the gun still functions fine, but my OCD just kicks in. The misalignment causes excessive wear on the slide itself where the slide release makes contact.
I'll be contacting Ruger after the holidays.

I read an earlier post about this and wanted to post my own picture and encourage any one else who has this same issue to contact Ruger CS. I had read the post and never thought about looking at my gun till Friday Nov 30 before going to a Ruger Day event at a LGS and was surprised to see that my...

Hello All! I am new to the world of pistol shooting and decided that a .22 was the best way to get introduced to the hobby. After talking to a couple of friends, I chose the SR22 for my first pistol. I bought it on Saturday, cleaned it, lubed it, checked the barrel to ensure it was tight, and...

Mine has been great. I've lost count of how many rounds I've put through it, but I run Federal bulk, and CCI bulk through it with very few problems

I am having problems with my sr22. I fire the first round and on the second round it seems to not feed. Recently I have found that the gun fires flawlessly with cci blazer bulk. weird huh? happy new year brothers! I cant find any cci blazer bulk! and thats what my gun likes.

Only thing this pistol ever needed was more mags. 3000+ rounds of cheap bulk federal 36g ammo with no problems other than the occasional bad primers but that's the ammo's fault. The gun is a keeper.

Blazer bulk is the highest quality book there is, imo. I buy a couple bricks every time I come across the stuff.

My SR has been a fun gun aside from the malfunctions. I hit with it naturally. Now if only I could get it to reliably pick rounds up from the mag.
