from different owners, do the cracks all happen in the same area?

A couple of months ago I saw a post about this. But, I couldn't find any bankruptcy filings in their name in San Bernardino County.

I just got one of these guns in nickel finish. I took it to the range yesterday. During this time of the first 100 rounds (APPX), the gun would jam frequently. The main problem being the magazine. The cartridges would point strait up instead of being fed into the chamber correctly. In other words, the magazine does not support the .22 cartridges very well, even loading the magazine up, the cartridges would pop strait up. Also, some of the shells would not get ejected, so I had to use my knife to easily pry it out. Upon prying it out and looking at it, there was a bulge in the shell towards the rim that might indicate that the chamber is not smooth. Is that a correct assumption?

Anyway. After about two hundred rounds, and realizing that the magazine works best with the gun when only 8 cartridges are loaded instead of 10, the gun started working much better! I had no jams, and I hit a couple bulls eyes at 10 and 15 yards. I had fun with the gun, but hopefully the aftermarket magazines are better made.

Also, does anyone else's barrel not line up perfectly to the slide. I mean the top of the barrel and top of the slide, where the rib-venting is?

Now that the gun is more broken in, I will have to go to the range again and see how much better the experience is.

I got a package of recoil springs from PA a couple weeks ago, so somebody was filling orders. Fast shipping, too.

FWIW I wanted a $150 gun, not a $350 one. If that means it cracks because I shot the heck out of it and I have to ship it off for free replacement, well, it's worth it to me.

For what I want to use it for, that's acceptable. For you, maybe not. Fine.

I was just reading about these little guns because I was thinking of buying a new one and must admit this is the 1st time I had read anything on these guns since acquiring my used one almost 2 years ago. That said I will be doing more research on these cracks that some of y'all have been discussing, but mine has performed flawlessly and for the most part goes everywhere I go. I have been impressed with this cheap little guns accuracy and have considered ordering the 5" barrel, though I have no issues with the short barreled version and it does fit nice in my back pocket...

^ I agree. These are great guns and very fun to shoot. My frame cracked and they replaced it. I sold the new gun but I sometimes miss it.

Just an FYI, but the Phoenix Arms "lifetime" warranty is only good for two repairs.
That's one heck of a LIFETIME warranty!

Bought mine new 12 or so years ago for $130; target package. Frame cracked a few years later and it sat in the safe for like 10 years. Finally got around to sending it in for warranty fix. 10 years later, they replaced the frame like I bought it yesterday. Still has feed/jam issues, but what 22 doesn't?

As long as its not your primary weapon, its a decent little "toy" for the price and from a company with excellent customer service.

I also bought mine new to support the RoF and a CA maker.
It actually worked quite well, good sights, it shot straight and was reliable.

The take-down and reassembly is a little difficult.
I had no problems but I am looking down the road to passing my collection, optimized and reduced, to my sons.
For them I want things that will be as easy and straight forward as possible.

Kinda sad to see it go.
I would not mind having another one, so that says something there.

I picked my range kit over a 9mm Hi-Point. No regrets.

Has anyone compared the HP22A to a JA 22? Both are similar in size and price. I have not shot either, but I am interested in maybe getting one.

I just bought one today, just because it's made in Ontario Ca. Prices have gone up though I paid $215 for mine.
