    Ruger's new 10/22 takedown - thoughts?

I'm probably going to be picking one up soon but wanted to see if anyone has already gotten it and can provide feedback. Thanks!
It was not a threat. It was an exaggerated response to an uncompromising stance. I was taught never to make a threat unless you are prepared to carry it out and I am not a fan of carrying anything. Even watching other people carrying things makes me uncomfortable. Mainly because of the possibility they may ask me to help.

i don't own one but from what I hear they are very good, more reliable than other TDs. The 10/22 is a very nice rifle so you should be in for a nice suprise

from what i've seen the takedown one is good. comes with a case, a better barrel (and reciever?), a bit heavier than the OEM 10/22 but more reliable from what i've read. i just picked up the OEM 10/22 today & awaiting DROS & there was the takedown version at the shop where i bought mine. too much for me so i didn't take it. $336

Have the new 10/22 TD in my hands for a few weeks. Already 500+ rounds. Not a single issue. Every pull of the trigger made the proverbial 'bang' sound until the mag was empty. Love it more than my original 10/22, better trigger, just overall feels/fits/looks better.

I think its a little too early to tell. Early reports are good, but time will tell.

Based on Ruger's reputation, should be good to go.

I've had mine to the range twice since I took possession. It's accurate and has a solid feel. The "backpack" is somewhat of a misnomer. It's a carrying case. No shoulder straps. Just so you're aware if you're expecting a backpack.

There's a thread here in the Forums you should look at. Something about some of these 10/22 TD's being shipped out to the stores where the front and back do not align properly when put together.

If you purchase one, before you leave the store, make sure it's perfect.

                I like mine.

Do you have a link to to that modification? I have the auto bolt release, but I have seen nothing about a hold after last round fired.

From what I understand, the way the 10/22 works, a LSHO isn't possible.

sorry im new w the 10/22 i ment to say auto bolt release....but it still needs a LSHO....im so used to shooting my ruger 522 that im used to it....still it shots better than expected and the concept of a bug out/survival bag puts a big smile on my face...and yes my ruger sr22 fits nicely in it w 5 mags

Why would you need a last shot hold open? BTW. The 10/22 TD is great and a winner from Ruger. Many other threads on the subject already and range reports etc. My friend took his new one out of the bag, put it together and used open sights at 100 yards with the first shot. He was 2" right of the bulls eye. That says something.

My first one had a chip on the bottom of the front hand guard where the two halves meet. I switched that one for a different one and now I see it's misaligned to the left about a centimeter.

I love mine. The aftermarket for previous models of 10/22 is HUGE and most of the spills into this model...and you know more will come in the way of stocks. You also get the benefit of having a takedown gun with a case. Stow and go. I can keep my scope on my gun and have it in the provided backpack with 500 rounds of ammo, a handgun, tri-mags and other goodies and still have room.

I got mine at Turners Fountain Valley for $289 w/ $10 Calgun coupon. A bargain in my eyes.
