Cci blazer is great. I also recommend federal value pack. My marlin eats federal all day long.

I swear by CCI Blazer. I keep that stuff in tupperware.

Gone through about 15,000 rounds of the stuff and it's great and comes in those boxes of 50 that you want. Best price I could find was $164.95 shipped from Dunn's. The cheapest I have paid for a box in the last year was something like $13.99 at Turner's. I also use Federal bulk, but I tend to get more FTFs and the ammo isn't as cheap. Either are cleaner than the Winchester stuff. Haven't used the Remington stuff in almost 15 years.

CCI Blazer all the way. I've put over 4000 rounds through my 10/22 without a hitch. They have been more reliable for me than remington or federal

CCI & Federal are the best IMO, I suggest avoiding Remington and Winchester,

Hmmmmm, I've had great results with everything mentioned here and a few that are not... and then, I've had nothing but trouble with everything listed here, and a few that are not. LoL Rimfire can be pretty picky. I've learned to test a few of the more common, easily available, cheap rimfire whenever I get a new .22 - before I buy a truckload. You'll ultimately find that the "best ammo" is the one that works best in your gun. Pick up 50-100 of whatever you can easily find in your area for a price you are willing to pay and an hour or two at the range and you'll have the "best ammo" for your purpose.

            My 2 cents -

Liberty is a well-armed lamb contesting the vote.

I've had good luck with Federal bulk from Wally World. It's much cheaper than CCI Blazer so I don't buy Blazer. The Federal is also copper plated vs lead round nose for Blazer. So you'll have more lead deposits with Blazer.

How much is it at your Wal-Mart? At mine, it's $1 more than Blazer, but I get better groups from the Blazer.

My 2 local Walmarts don't carry Blazer. So I'm comparing Walmart Federal pricing to gun shops that carry Blazer in my area. I also haven't bought .22 LR for probably a couple years since before Walmart's ammo price hikes. I bought several thousand rounds right before the hikes. So maybe my info is dated on pricing. But I used to buy Federal bulk for 2.8 to 3 cents per round. Blazer was usually 3.5 to 3.8 cents per round.

BTW, I have a 16" mid-length MOE AR in FG just like the one in your picture. Nice. But mine has a Gen 2 rear MBUS.

Actually that is the normal price per brick there for the Blazer. The only added deal is if you buy a case you get a free t-shirt

If your local stores are out, I think its $170 shipped for 5000:

Blazer all the way, I was lucky to buy a case from Ammo Brothers for $139.99 plus tax.

Mine doesn't have Blazer either. I'm just comparing prices.

Nice! I thought about an MBUS, but I only have irons so I wanted something a bit more...metal I guess, loo.

Just added a 'few' boxes of Federal bulk to my stash. 550 rounds/$18.80 or so. I have not shot Blazer but willing to try. So far the 10/22 has eaten about 2500 rounds of the Federal and I can count on one hand (with fingers left over) the failures to battery. Not bad. I shot a brick of CCI Mini-Mag as well but was not feeling the value there. Then again we are pretty much plinking at 25-50 yards.

                              Thanks for the advise.

While I like mini-mags and they are not terribly expensive, I'm really looking for inexpensive bulk ammo.

I was thinking about SHTF bartering and trading .22lr 50 rounds at a time.

CCI Blazer sounds ideal for that. If it's reasonably reliable in common rifles, that's good enough. If it fires but doesn't cycle semi-autos, that might be even better but I think the safe route is going with the best performing cheap ammo I can find.

I will have mini-mags and other ammo that my rimfire rifles and pistols like but that will be saved for me.

In a world where personal protection is a personal responsibility, a couple small boxes of .22 might buy a Jerry can of gas or a half pound of gold.

When SHTF, I want to cash in.

I'm going to buy a case of Wild Turkey in 1/2 pints, those should trade well too.

Blazer has never failed to cycle my Marlin 795.
I have never had a failure to feed or extract for that matter in 3k plus rounds
