    Best cheap ammo?

I'm thinking about storing a lot of .22lr but instead of value packs, I would like ammo boxed in cardboard 50 packs. I would also like it to be accurate, ignite reliably and known to run well in common semi-autos like 10-22s, Mk IIs, Buckmarks, etc.

I saw Remington Thunderbolts, it's packaged right and cheap but I saw some negative reviews.

So what's the consensus here in the rimfire section?

One more thing, I might go half good and cheap, half just cheap as possible, so if there is something cheap that is packaged right but not terribly accurate or doesn't cycle semi-autos, I want to know about that too.

    Thanks.

I have also had good luck with CCI Blazer. The Blazer is 40grn Lead Round Nose and runs well in my Ruger Mk III.

It comes in 525 round value packs in which the rounds are loose, but it is also available in 500 round bricks composed of 10 boxes of 50 rounds like you were looking for.

It sounds like Blazer is the way to go.

I found 5,000 round cases (10 bricks per case, 10 boxes of 50 rounds per brick) for $164.99 with free shipping.

That seems like a good deal but if it can be had cheaper, I'll look harder.

          Thanks for the help.

i really like wolf because its cheap, accurate, reliable, and consistent.

its not bottom of the barrel, but its not top shelf by any means. all of my 22s do well with it and its all i shoot now.

Is $15-16 usually the normal price for a brick of CCI Blazers?

Cci is great. I've shot a lot of the American Eagle 22 as well - it comes in 400 rd bricks with 40 per box inside. It runs great in my 10/22... Must have shot 1200 rds of it at least just in that gun. Only failures to feed were caused by dirty mags. All rounds have fired.

That's the cheapest for 50-round pack bricks.

Online, yeah. Most stores seem to have them for ~$20+, like Big 5. However, Big 5 also has them on sale for $15 or $16 at times.

                        CCI Blazer bulk, hands down.

My CZ keeps them in tight even @ 100yds.

Definitely CCI Blazer for cheap. Really though, the mini mags aren't that much more and they're always reliable. Cheap ammo means cheap powder which means a clogged gun. Buy decent ammo and you'll be much happier.
