According to Ruger it has already been submitted for testing in CA. And should take about a month or two before it ships to CA.

Has the LCR .22lr been submitted for testing?

What the heck... safety must be 'up' to fire?

It looks like a neat gun, but that safety bothers me.

cnj, the LCR 22 has also been submitted for testing.

Out of curiosity, how do you guys know this? Was this confirmed via your correspondences with Ruger? I couldn't readily find this info on Ruger's site. Thanks in advance!

Seems expensive to me. Is it actually more expensive than the center-fired full sized version? I've seen several SR9's come up in the for sale section lately for less than the $399 they want for this thing.

I know Ruger has released a few .22lr versions of their larger guns (LCR, SP101, and now SR22) these last few months, but they all seem to be in the same price range as their center-fire counterparts. What gives?

I'm not hating on Ruger, I have a MKIII hunter that I paid good money for. I've had several minor quality control issues with that gun. I just don't feel that Rugers are worth the premium they are asking for, especially for the new .22's in which most dealers are asking MSRP.

I have never seen a bad review from the Gunblast guy, so I take his opinion with a grain of salt. Although I do find his videos informative.

It does not cost any less to make an LCR in 22lr.

Looks very similar to a P22. With that said, it doesn't bring anything new to the table so I have no reason to be interested in it.

Yes, they emailed me saying it was (and I posted it up on here in the LCR .22 thread).

I'm sure this will go to testing as well, as long as there's a mag disconnect and a loaded chamber indicator (haven't seen any specs that say it does, but knowing Ruger like they did with the LC9, they probably did put those in).

I will have to say, it's impressive and kind of neat. But a bit fugly for my tastes to where I wouldn't get rid of my GSG 1911 for, and I'd rather pick up the LCR .22 and play with that instead.

Kinda curious - Anyone have an idea how long that process might take??

When they emailed me back around Christmas time, they said the LCR .22 had already been submitted for testing, and that testing usually takes 1-2 months to complete. Once that's done, they submit the results to CA DOJ for roster approval. Depending on their load, it will get added quickly or slowly.

The LC9 debuted around Jan 2011. It didn't get added to the CA roster until either June or July 2011 (it was the 28th of one of those months... I remember seeing the new list). But then the LCR .357 was approved faster after its debut, I believe within 3-4 months. If that gives you any indication, then give it a good 4 months before you see anything for sale in CA (+/- a couple of months).

Just go to Ruger's side and send them an email asking if the SR22 will be submitted to CA DOJ for roster approval. They'll get back to you within a few working days and let you know (I would do it myself, but I personally don't have as much interest in this gun than I did with the LCR .22)
