Ruger SR22

Am I the only one that notices that this looks like a p22 with a Ruger logo. I wonder what Walther thinks about this because this pistol looks very very similar, and from the video it loss like the take down and everything is exactly the same.

I see it having the same problems as the Sig Mosquito and the Walther P22. It has a pot aluminum slide and it will most likely have failure issues as well. I would avoid.

From reviews I have read so far is that it eats any ammo, which is a huge selling point for me. I hate any gun that is ammo picky, though doubt I will get one as I have bigger fish to fry than another .22LR.

I like this guys vids, though most seem to be like <2 minutes, this one is about 5 minutes on the SR22...

Leave the FUD to the FFL's. The sr22's slide is solid aluminum, please research these things before spreading disinformation. Ruger specifically engineered this pistol to avoid the problems all other compact .22 pistols have been experiencing. The skeeter, p22, and virtually all other compact .22 plinker slides are 'pot metal' called ZAMAK, not solid aluminum. It's yet to be seen whether the sr22 will have any major issues, but I highly doubt that the slide will be one of those issues. From what I've seen and from shooting a friends the sr22 seemed to chew through all the ammo it was fed. I plan to pick one up in the future.

The SR-22 made it on the CA DOJ list a/o 01/19/12.

I plan to order one on Monday.

Got my new SR22 pistol the other day.

Neat little gun. Feels good with either grip. Didn't seem very accurate with CCI ammo.

Went to put the finger grip extensions on the magazines, neither fit either mag,
the holes are drilled off center and the pin won't engage.

Big disappointment for 100% USA quality. I suspect I'll have trouble with Ruger to make good on it.

When they emailed me back around Christmas time, they said the LCR .22 had already been submitted for testing, and that testing usually takes 1-2 months to complete. Once that's done, they submit the results to CA DOJ for roster approval. Depending on their load, it will get added quickly or slowly.

The LC9 debuted around Jan 2011. It didn't get added to the CA roster until either June or July 2011 (it was the 28th of one of those months... I remember seeing the new list). But then the LCR .357 was approved faster after its debut, I believe within 3-4 months. If that gives you any indication, then give it a good 4 months before you see anything for sale in CA (+/- a couple of months).



Just go to Ruger's side and send them an email asking if the SR22 will be submitted to CA DOJ for roster approval. They'll get back to you within a few working days and let you know (I would do it myself, but I personally don't have as much interest in this gun than I did with the LCR .22)

But I bought mine in march and dros'd when my 30 day wait was up in April... I'm pretty sure the magic number is 3/7 or 8/2011...

It made the list, but I have two 22/45's so the LCR is slightly higher on the list...

This gun should develop variations like all other Ruger guns and the "original" Walther P22. Maybe something with a longer barrel or a two tone model. I get burnt whenever I jump on something as a early adapter so I'm going to wait this one out.

Nevertheless, I'll be at Turners to check out this baby and leave all my money and plastics at home....

Locally, I've been quoted $315 + tax/DROS for the new Ruger. The P22-CA, from what I gather, is about $75 more.

Definitely going to be picking one up. Also, really happy to see it land on the DOJ list so quickly.

Yep. It was their "Calguns Special" for this week. They were taking deposits for a $319 sale price. Put a deposit in on Friday morning, got the call today that they had a serial number for it, so I went down to the Torrance store and filled out the paperwork.

Can't wait 'til the 8th.

lucky..... I ordered 1/22 from lgs for $329 and don't know when its coming in. I wish I waited and went for the turners deal. I still could but I might be behind a lot of people now.
