    SR22 Pistol

Got my new SR22 pistol the other day.

Neat little gun. Feels good with either grip. Didn't seem very accurate with CCI ammo.

Went to put the finger grip extensions on the magazines, neither fit either mag,
the holes are drilled off center and the pin won't engage.

Big disappointment for 100% USA quality. I suspect I'll have trouble with Ruger to make good on it.

    Almost ready to sell it.

I would hope ruger would make steel pistols, not polymer and aluminum.

        Ruger SR22 Pistol

OK, I got the finger extensions on the mags with a little tinkering, problem was me, not Ruger's.

The polymer frame, rubber grips, finger extensions, aluminum slide all feel and work nice. You can field strip it in seconds with your eyes closed. Slides nicely in your pocket. Like the decocker safety.

Shot it a bit more today. I'm liking it more, now I wish it had a higher capacity mag.

I think extra mags from Ruger are $35.00.

        If anyone is curious:

        MSRP..$399
        My Dealer..$319
        I Paid..$299
        Dealer Cost..$269

I assume you are not in California?

$299 is a good deal. Ruger makes some of the best .22 lr pistols and I hope this SR22 is going to be the same. It might not bring anything new from the P22 but heck, better reliability is always welcome.

It is supposed to be able to shoot bulk ammo. More reliable than P22. I like it. Going to start saving now so I can add it to my stable.

Ruger makes a mean set of 22 pistols and I will be keeping my eye out for this one also. I got the MK III for Christmas and have a blast shooting it. I already plan on getting another for the summer. I'll either get the stainless, 10/45, or the this gun.

I wish they kept true to the SR series and made it exactly like the SR9 or had a .22lr conversion for the SR9. Then I could practice on the cheap.

Not a single complaint on mine. Went and shot it at Angeles and shot 300 rounds or . A few rounds to set the sights and off it went. Had about three FTF's in that many with Federal, I have a feeling I short stroked the trigger. With the impossibility of getting a P22CA, I think Ruger has a hit on their hands.

How is the size compared to the Walter P22?

I shot a Ruger MK-III today and loved everything about it besides the looks. I've seen the SR-22 as cheap as $28x online and would love to get one if the size is right.

If you closed your eyes, you'd think it was a P22. For all intents and purposes, they are dang similar.

Am I the only one that notices that this looks like a p22 with a Ruger logo. I wonder what Walther thinks about this because this pistol looks very very similar, and from the video it loss like the take down and everything is exactly the same.
