    GSG 1911 issues

Ok, this guy is starting to become a regretful purchase.

I have had lots of problems with this gun. I have had feeding issues. I have had cycling issues. I have tried grease & oil. I have tried lots of different ammo (YES all high velocity). I have had issues where it fails to fire. I pull the hammer back and the round fires on the second strike.

Just when I finally start to make some progress (shot ~30 rounds consecutively no issues), the guide rod broke and the spring bunched up internally. After finally getting the gun a part lots of pieces fell out.
I only have about ~500-750 round total through it. Only 2 months old.

Anyone else have this much trouble? Anyone have any experience with the warranty department?

Oh bummer Erik... We got ours at the same time... In fact, I think the same day if I recall correctly. I have had no issues with mine. One single failure to fire as I recall with cheap federal bulk packs. Mine seems flawless <knock on wood> and I am so sorry to hear of your issues. I have heard of the guiderod issue and that ATI will take care of their customers. Nothing but positive words from what I have read.

Any update on this? Have you made any progress getting it fixed or get rid of it? Looking to buy one in the future so just searching.

No official resolution as of yet.

I contact ATI and supposedly replacement parts are on the way.

This is bitter/sweet in my opinion. Bitter as in I was hoping they would want the gun back to go through it, test it and make sure everything is up to par.

Sweet as in I don't have to go through the pain of sending my gun out and waiting for it to come back.

I don't when I should expect my replacement parts or by which carrier they are being shipped.

Did you strip it and clean it before you shot it for the first time? If so, it sounds like you put your guide spring on backwards. One side is narrower and it must go in first and slip over the guide rod. You should try it out when you get in your replacement parts if you haven't already.

            Latest update:

Well, I got some parts. According to the invoice they shipped everything. But I did not get the guide rod.

Plus the recoil spring doesn't look right.

Very disappointed so far in the customer service.

Did you notice anything when you first picked it up? I suspect that GSG doesn't have very good QC. I ordered one and had to wait just over a month for it to arrive. When I examined it, the slide would stick, so I refused to take possession. They ordered me another one (3 week wait), but the second one has worked flawlessly... With high velocity ammo only, of course. Plus I keep it well-greased, for what it's worth.

i put another 400-500 rounds through mine today (around 2000 rounds so far)... only issue ive had so far is when i shove an 11th round into one of my mags.. the first round will feed but the second round will not... other than that still not a single issue... almost all of my ammo so far has been federal bulk jhp..

Wrong gun Coyote. You might be thinking of an AR15.

i just bought my gsg 1911 3 weeks ago, haven't tested it but I can't see the difference between the ends of my recoil spring.. I google it and it's correct the wider ends should be towards the muzzle, very strange but on my recoil spring looks the same on both ends.....

My recoil spring looks the same on both ends too, ive put a few hundred rounds through it with the spring both ways and it doesnt seem to matter.
